301 redirect expired domain for seo, still usable?

Hi guys. I ve seen a very strong domain. But i see two redirects. One to the subdomain and one to a domain marketplace. Google can nulify your links when it has previous a redirect.

Whats your take on an expired domain, that s redirected. Is it still usefull?

Once the redirects are removed and website has been hosted for some time, the domain will regain it's strength.

if it is 301 then its better to avoid.

I built a very successful affiliate site and sold it for a good sum a few years ago, the domain was 301 for 13 years. 301s don't make the domain lose power, it's just a stupid myth. The thing you want to look out for is abusive 301s. If someone bought a domain and 301 it to a casino or pharma or any irrelevant site, then I would stay away from that domain. Everything else, including temporary legitimate redirects are totally fine.

Based on what I observe, I am surprised to say that this method still works, but it is necessary to choose the right combination of domains. I would have thought that this old method would be fixed by Google, but it seems not..

Yes, even with redirects, an expired domain can still hold value for SEO if its backlink profile is strong and relevant!
