Hi,

I have a page on my website that ranks third in Google for let's say "keyword example". Can I boost it, 301 redirecting an old domain that has good backlins for "keyword example" to this page?

Yes, it will provide a rank boost by sending some good link juice to the new domain.

Relevancy is the key, for both the expired domain old content/topic and anchors,
If they're matching up that specific page and you setup the 301 the right way, it will surely boost it if it got the right links
