301 Inner Page - Merge?

Hello guys,

I have 2 very similar inner pages (They cover the same topic). Both of those pages have decent and strong links, however one of them receives very little traffic compared to another one.

Example:

PAGE A: www.example.com/blue-sports-cars/ Title: Blue Sports Cars (Great Links - Little Traffic): RANK 8
PAGE B: www.example.com/red-sports-cars/ Title: Red Sports Cars (Great Links - Good Traffic) RANK: 13

My competition targets both of this keywords on the same page, but I decided to split them. Unfortunately, it was a mistake because I need to pound twice 2x as much links.

I spent a lot of money already on both of this pages, but Page A (Blue Cars) isn't worth it to continue.

I wonder if it's a wise choice to use PAGE A => 301 redirect => PAGE B
I would also re-edit the PAGE B to match some of the content from PAGE A.

So I wondered if I can use 301 to boost the other page and help it rank even better.

What do you think?
