301 for safeguarding SEO?

Question here. Has anyone experimented trying to use a purely 301 technique for SEO, in a "defensive" manner?

That is, let's say I have my content-rich money site http://www.mymoneysite.com. I want to rank the home page and some of the internal pages let's say pages http://www.mymoneysite.com/A, http://www.mymoneysite.com/B and http://www.mymoneysite.com/C. I don't care about other pages on the site such as http://www.mymoneysite.com/D.

Now, rather than building even one single backlink to http://www.mymoneysite.com or any of is subpages, I start by buying domain my301domain.com. Then I set up 4 pages on it.

http://www.my301domain.com redirects to http://www.mymoneysite.com via 301. And I SEO this.
http://www.my301domain.com/A redirects to http://www.mymoneysite.com/A via 301. And I SEO this.
http://www.my301domain.com/B redirects to http://www.mymoneysite.com/B via 301. And I SEO this.
http://www.my301domain.com/C redirects to http://www.mymoneysite.com/C via 301. And I SEO this.

I do not care about creating the page http://www.my301domain.com/D. Or, should I, by the way, and simply not SEO this page?

And just in case something goes wrong with the SEO, or I build an alternative money site http://www.myalternativemoneysite.com, I remove the 301 redirects from http://www.mymoneysite.com and the sub-pages.

Has anyone tried that? How effective is the strategy in your experience?

One final request, before I sunset the question in case I receive no answer. I would definitely be helped if someone can answer this. Thanks for reading!

A twist on this (that I can confirm works) would be to set up some pages on www.my301domain.com with identical content to www.mymoneysite.com and use the canonical tag to indicate to Google that the money site should get the credit for links to the pages on my301domain.com.

I simply tested whether it works, not how effective it is versus other methods.

So by that you mean, this is effective for SEO, though you do not know whether or not it is better than some other technique or not. Or at least, that is how I interpret your statement, please correct me if I got you wrong.
