Lately I have been hearing a lot of sim swapping for crypto cases and it doesn't seem safe at all using 2FA with phone.

How was he even so dumb to store $30m under one Phone OTP

How did this exactly happend? Plus I agree kinda dumb to keep that much in one place.
 
Maybe trying to play smart with govt agencies to avoid tax.
 
2FA is not safe at all. Everyone who works at a telecom company can clone a SIM card and withdraw all cash.
 
There are 3 possible scenarios to this story.

1. The Smart Stupid Play:
it's possible this guy has the authority chasing him for tax and other reasons and to shield himself and protect the funds he claims its hacked. I mean cant pay tax on what doesn't exist.

2.Cloud Chaser :
Maybe he is doing all this for attention, I have seen a lot of people do stuff like this to attract attention and change it to there favor after the attention dried up. I mean won't you think this guy creating a course on how he made 30M on BCH go viral since he has already proven he owns the wallet where it was hacked. he can silently milk the situation in dozens of ways.

3.The Stupid Lamlh Lahlm:
the chances of this actually being real is small but giving this the benefit of the doubt he deserves the idiot of the decade to allow this to be hacked, I know we don't have control of things but definitely he had the option of diversifying all this asset and securing it properly to avoid all this happening to him this is just my 3 cents opinion.

things like this happened all the time. this particular guy was spraying hundred of thousand on the street a couple of months back.
 
So sad , that's wealth enough to make a successful research to get a cure for the corona virus in china

I don't think this is an excuse. You can make $1 Million selling stocks, store in a vault and if the vault is stolen, you still owe taxes.
