30 Autoblogs Deindexed today - $50

Finally, my blogger autoblogs got deindexed from G.

Sharing my research and findings here :-

Total AutoBlogs: 32 blogs
Total Revenue: ~ $50
Total Days running: 40 days
Avg posts per blog per day: 5-40
Top earning blog: ~ $6.70

Findings:

1. If you have a visitor from "Mountain View, California - USA", that means they have made a visit.
2. The other fun thing that I have notice is, the "visitor" is actually using Window Explorer instead of chrome when they visit.
3. The third thing is, those legitimate blogs registered in the same account was not deindexed.
4. They only de-indexed the blogs from the web search engine, and not the images or blog search engine, etc.
5. It took 2-6 hours for the instruction to propagate to all their servers.
6. I am still getting traffic from other search engines
7. I have loss 75-80% organic traffic, which is inline with their search engine market share in the world.

Conclusion:

1. It was definitely the best learning lesson I have gotten
2. Learn how to program using php
3. Written 4 different scrapping autoblog scripts
4. Able to setup and create a full running autoblog in less than 15min.
5. Found out the importance of keyword targeting
6. Found out the importance of frequency of blog posting
7. Of course, finding this community and people with same passion towards autoblogging

Future work in planning:

1. Find ways to display a different set of blogs posting to people from mountain view
2. Write a simple automation software to automate part of the setup process to cut setup time to 5min instead of 15min
3. Going to create more variety of scrapping scripts

I'm just starting out in the auto-blogging business - writing a bunch of code from scratch as I want a unique footprint - and will concentrate more on an "aggregation" site so it's (hopefully) not considered spamming. I'm also concentrating on niche markets that even though they won't get as many hits as highly searched terms, hopefully this will also help keep it under the radar.

Am interested if your blogs were scraped and re-written content or more like an aggregation site?

Sorry for the loss but I think there's a piece we're not getting. I don't think (in general) sites get de-indexed for duplicate content. There are just too many article sites, sites based on RSS feeds...etc. They may get penalized, or not rewarded as highly in the SERPs, but I haven't had experience with a complete deindexing based on duplicate content. Based on my experience (for whatever weight that holds ) getting deindexed is likely the result of overly aggressive linkbuilding or the discovery of some sort of mass interlinking architecture. Could this have been the cause?

Also, at the end of the day, it's the Internet and nothing happens in a vacuum. You could be doing everything "right" but some a-hole reports your site in to G as a spammer and tips that first domino. All you can do is control the controllables. Before you scrap your plans, I'd be 100%certain that there was a defect in your plan and not the work of some outside influence. How to determine that is the $64k question though.

I agree with that. If you look at Techchuck (70k pages indexed) it now even has related tweets, so.... it is providing a lot of integration of content on every page (a mashup). I believe google likes that, since it is adding value.

A poorly done autoblog, on the other hand, stands out. So may be the idea is go for "whitehat" autoblog
