3 Sites Journey

Doing this again since I just stopped my previous one which was two years ago?

I plan to update this thread once every week or so.

Quick TL;DR

• Site 1 is an old site which you can read where I left off over here
• Site 2 & 3 are new

Pet Site 1
I haven't touched this site for the longest period since the last post on the above-linked thread.

I started publishing 1-3 content every month from July 2019 and now I am heavily starting to pick its pace.

So far I have:

• Did keyword research for new contents
• Publish new contents

Current site stats:

• 21 pages of content
• 39 pages indexed on Google

Plans going forward:
I’ll be solely focusing on spitting out more content for now and get this site into mediavine.

For this site, I am currently working only on one category of the niche so far, I’d like to get this pet category over with and move on to another pet.

Site 2
I bought the domain for this site at end of November but haven’t decided on what to exactly do with it.

So far I have:

• Set up theme Generatepress, plugins, GA, GSC
• Set up Youtube, Facebook, Pinterest accounts.
• Keyword research with the help of my competitors.

Plans going forward
I was stuck in between whether to work on Youtube or the website itself first.

My plan going forward for this site is to publish a bunch of content and then publish Youtube videos.

Site 3
I am really excited about this site. I have been meaning to start a website about this years ago but never got to it. I came across this idea when I was working on my other website.

Little more about this site:
I am solely focusing on review type content for now, so iPhone 7 review, etc. kind of stuff.

I am hiring real people who have tried out and used the product, so that I get honest feedback on the product and real HQ images from them, also they might share the post with their friends and family as well. Up till now, I have mainly been finding them through subreddits but not much responded, but I realized I can just hire people from UpWork as well and we have quite a lot of writers so far now.

So far I have:

• Bought domain
• Bought WPX hosting
• Set up theme Generatepress, plugins, GA, GSC
• Set up Youtube/Facebook page and group/ Pinterest
• Gathered competition keywords with SEMRush
• Find new keywords
• Published new contents

Website stats:

• 2 Published content

Plans going forward:
Publish a bunch of content again. Find new writers, exhaust their products, publish content, repeat.

Typo, I meant 29, others are just your usual home, disclaimer, category, etc.

If you visited the old thread, I did some broken link building and 301 redirected a domain to subpage, also bought one link. That's about it. The 301 redirection has the biggest effect so far.

Site 1 is already solid. Looking forward to seeing it grow. Site 3 sounds exiting, I too like tech review sites. Good luck!

Jan. 2020. Update

Site 1
I didn't do much in Jan 2020 as I was mainly focused on site 3.

Takeaways

• Had a dip in rankings which means a dip in traffic
• Just realized my hosting server is in Singapore, moving it to the US
• My website is slow af, will be using wpspeedfix in the future, I'm not affiliated with them.

• GA: All Users (Sessions) 1059
• GA: Organic Traffic (Sessions) 501
• GSC: Total Clicks 359
• GSC: Total Impressions 45,900
• SEMRush: Total Keywords 760

Going forward

• Going organize my KW research and decide what content to publish for Feb.

Site 2
Nothing much was done on this site as well. Currently waiting for the articles to be delivered.

• 4 published post

• GSC: Total Clicks 1
• GSC: Total Impressions 22

Going forward

• Publish an article and turn them to into video after receiving them.

Site 3

What have I done so far:

• Found a new group of writers through upwork
• Just published a bunch of reviews

Website stats so far:

• 15 published review
• 9 posts are ranking in Google
• 1 is bouncing from pos. 9-12
• GA: All Users (Sessions) 126
• GA: Organic Traffic (Sessions): 7
• GSC: Total Clicks: 6
• GSC: Total Impressions: 37

Plans going forward:

• Publish more reviews again
• Start Pinterest as I didn't in Jan.

May. 2020. Update

Site 1
Nothing much done since the update above.

Only two-piece of content posted in April 2020.

Website stats

Traffic is still increasing with little work but my money keyword fell off the first page to page two, not too worried about it, currently focusing on getting more traffics.

Going forward

• Finally found myself a competent writer who can create two-piece of content every week, so I'll be uploading content regularly on this site now.
• Do keyword/niche research for another sub-niche since I'm going to run out of keywords to target.
• After the recent Google update calms down, I'll be purchasing a guest post weekly.

Site 2
I found another writer for this site.

So lots of articles published between March and April and still continuing.

Created Pins for every post on the site which seems to be getting some clicks.

Website stats

Most of the keywords are already on page 2 with a few on page 1 but with the recent Google update, they're just bouncing around.

Going forward

• Publish more content.
• Recently placed a drip PBN order from Hetneo.
• Going to dabble into YT

Site 3
Lots of content published already, all of them are review posts or what people like to call as money posts. 42 in fact.

Website stats

Growing steadily as well.

Going forward

• Switch to informational content or "top 5" content, since the keywords I am targeting are "xxxx review" and has a low search volume.
• Do keyword research and create a content plan for the above.
• Keep publishing content
