3 questions about ripple paper wallet

hi everyone.
i did a paper wallet from this website : ripplepaperwallet.com
1.why is the public address more secure (longer) then the secret key ? is it make any sense ?
2.i tried to send 8 ripple coin to the public address but it would not let me :
"address invalid for xrp wallets" or something like that.
the address is correct after i checked 20 time and copy paste it.
is this website ok ? did anyone worked with it ?
3.what app to use after the ripple coins will be send to the paper wallet to take them back from paper to online ? i want to test if i can put it on paper and take it back before i invest on ripple coins.

not sure about ripplepaperwallet, but i am using ripple desktop wallet from ripplex to store my XRP on my laptop.

I haven't had any issue so far. Check it out.
