Is this the update?

It was a whole lot of nothing.

Plenty of things moved around, but in the end, nothing happened. It was zero-sum(for my sites at least).

For example: 1 site's domain of mine, completely whitehat just writing about stuff, lost PR. I haven't backlinked once. Yet, the pages on that domain increased PR. The idea of a site being primarily linked by the domain is dead, we know that, but apparently I need to keep reminding myself of it because it's pretty surprising.

A blackhat site of mine is just fine. Some things went up, some things went down, but it's almost an exact snapshot of last month.

A spam-to-hell site of mine, though it seems pretty legitimate, is climbing up.

As far as I see it, this shows that Google cannot tell what is whitehat, what is blackhat, and what is merely junk.

Just keep working and producing what you think is quality I guess, but it seems you don't even need to if you know how to bs(wow, really? who would have thought?).

Please let me know what you've seen. I'm unimpressed with Google's ability to discern at the moment.

Update: Literally nothing happened on my clients' sites. They are established, so I think they had some good history going for them which is why they were more stable, but...wasn't there supposed to be an update?

So far we had a bunch of our clients sites shoot way up in the serps. I wish every update was like this lol

Nothing happened with my site's serp, all are working fine no movement yet.

Can't shoot higher than 1st, of course

I really don't understand what the fuss of this update was about. I didn't even build backlinks the past 5 or so days, I just wanted to wait to see, and I saw nothing :\

Well what i noticed so far:
More spam sites got fked up in Google and i'm really happy about this. So far some giants got off one of the big niches i was looking for a while and now it's my time to get in there.

So far i love Google updates even if one fked me up, after getting up of that and analyzing in depth of what caused what + some of this forums case studies i found out that i love panda and penguin.

oddly enough alot of our own sites that we did alot of blackhat seo on are outranking our whitehat sites now. Go figure. Im not sure if anyone else is seeing some of the same results right now, but one of our sites that we were using as a test case litterly spamming the hell out of the pages with hidden keywords shot to #5 on our keyword. And the only blackhat tool we used on this site was Xrumer lol, who sais Xrumer is dead?;)

It's a strange update to say the least but so far nothing out of the norm right now.

Had no noticeable improvement in rankings for the major keywords im tracking but I have had an increase of over 200% traffic today. Coincidence? Site has been live for over a year and has never seen this much traffic so I dont know whats going on.

We were number one for a certain keyword and on average (being number 1) only received 4-5 clicks a day. Today was over 20 which is extremely weird for that keyword. It's not one I target but theres certainly something strange happened today

I saw a whole lot of nothing.. So far.. We'll see how things roll. I'm getting ready to run a bunch of ranking reports. I'll try to get back in to post some details.

Things seem to be the same as they were. I have around 100 projects added In SERPbook.com ..I went though my top client's project and I did not see any significant/sharp change....in serp.

Hy

I think G can't make the difference between whitehat and blackhat, and it will never be able, or at least in the near feature...

To be more specific it can make the difference but he can't base on the algo result because of the multitude of the situation out there...

I said this and I will repeat this... what for a website is considering as be unnatural link building for another could be the normal visitor feedback...

Second we are still talking about an algo not a human been that visit your website, read the content and then give a score.. we are talking about an algo that take some action based on statistics...

So backhat can work but you must know how to do it to stay under the radar, to leave no footprint...

I saw many guys out there that build some manual backlinks like 30-40 and then blast them with tire 2 blog comments or wiki or what ever but the tire 2 is like 3000-4000 backlinks and use 3-4 kw as anchor text... and they think they are safe... But let's take a minute and see what G algo will see... It will see that from 4000 backlinks you get 4 kw each one with a density around 25%....

Hmmm.. how possible is that from your visitors 4000 of them post a link to your website using only 4 kw....? How many times did you do that during your online activity? How many times you like an article and post a link to that and you used the exact same anchor on all the posts?

Now let's take a guy that blast 4000 blog comments to it's may website... and he use 200 anchor text? Well... he got a 0.5% kw density...

So if you will be a programer that build an algo.. who you will consider as spamming? the one that have a 25% kw density or the one have a 0.5% ?

my serps was down a little .. maybe cause of i didn't make backlink yet

things improved a bit, but i am not sure if it is because of the update or because of the linkbuilding i was doing last week..

I have the same experience as you. One is white SEO,while it's punished now,it said the quality of blog has something wrong; While another is pure black SEO,it's ok now, never meet any issue from Google.

And I found that if a blog article have too many photos with links ,that's not a good blog for Google.

it seems to that update did not happen, or it is roiling out very slowly, too soon to celebrate i guess.
