Hey guys and girls
I have decided to create a journey thread so I can document my progress with my upcoming projects and to help keep me focused on my objectives and of course to give others an insight into what has worked and what hasn't.
This will be a 24-month journey (Wowzers), in this time I am willing to upscale or downscale in order to find a winning formula to success.
Targets:
My target will be a moving goalpost, so I don't want to cement something in stone on my first post.
Journey Rules
I have selected three domains that I am going to concentrate on with a further two that id like to develop (max total of 5 projects).
Sites will be developed fully before moving on to the next one, with each site having a minimum of 20 articles of at least 1000 words before its launched.
As I create more sites I will also factor in time to release new articles for the sites that are already launched.
I will give myself 2 months to get a site from zero to launch. I think this is more than enough time, but as I work long hours I don't always have the energy/time to get as much done as id like.
As I sell off my unused domains, I will look at reinvesting and hire content writers.
Unless there is an obvious reason to, i won't give up on any site for at least one year, then re-evaluate. in an ideal world they will all be ranking and bringing in earnings but if they are not paying their way I will axe them. If they are not looking to be successful I will axe them.
List money spent on sites
List hours spent on sites.
Site builds
WordPress will be used to create each site.
I will list plugins that I use for each site.
I will use purchased WordPress themes for all sites.
Tools used
Moz Pro - Once I decided which domains / niches that I will be using I signed up for the free 1 month trial at Moz, did a mass keyword search for each niche and downloaded all the relevant keywords in csv files. I have literally got thousands to go through and it's a good starting point to help create some content around long-tail keywords.
Grammarly to help correct my fuckups
Images
Again I took advantage of Shutterstock free trial and got 10 high-quality images for my first site which is a good starting point for my content.
Affiliate Partners
I will mainly be using Amazon, especially for site 1.
