24" iMac or 17" MBP

Hey what's up guys?

I'm in a bit of a delimmia and can't choose which to get. This is what I am going to have running and need someone that's more intelligent than I on the guts of the computer.

Running at all times:

Photoshop Cs3 (graphics)
Firefox
Dreamweaver (websites)
iTunes (music & audiobooks)
A few softwares doing various task
skype, aim, yahoo
I will be running parallels also.

Now, here is my delimma. I have an 18 month old daughter thati stay home with since I am fulltime IM and can't leave her alone to work in my office. I love the iMac because of the screen real estate but think I need the portability of the MBP.

What would you choose in this situation?.

Please no Pc as I already have one that crashes 90% of the time and is outta the question. I just need some quick feedback before I click the order button...

Get the 13" macbook pro to save money. Once you get it home, purchase a 4 Gig ram upgrade and a 500 GB HD upgrade yourself and install it. (it's cheaper that way and you get a faster HD) Then get the 24" cinema display.

Best of both worlds. 24" screen + the laptop screen if you chose to keep it open while hooked up, and the portability of an unpug an go decked out laptop. Best money I've spent this year man.

Nice setup man, Will look even sicker after you get all your desk.

I didn't think about getting a Cinema Display....Anyways I went with your idea except I just ordered a 17" MBP and a 24" cinema instead of the iMac! Thanks for the idea bro!
