21 visitors, 795 bots?

I started using StatPress last week or so, and I've been watching my bots and things like that. I thought 200 bots, on a site that gets 20ish visits was high. So far today, I have 21 visitors and 795 bots on my site...What am I running a bot porn site? It doesn't really seem like all these bots are doing a whole lot for SEO, but there are bots everywhere. So do you think all these bots will actually lead to some decent traffic? Is this normal?

Oh, on a side note, for some reason my sitemap was messed up with Google Webmaster tools, and I fixed it yesterday. Now I have 795 bots on my site. If you have a site, I think submitting it to Webmaster tools, helps a ton.

They are just indexing your site, do you have many pages?

Thanks I'll check it out. I don't have near the visitors you do for the month, but I'm getting about as many spiders as you in a day. I'm at 1500 with a couple hours left.

I have about 110 pages, it autoposts about 8 items per day.


I think I just realized what it is. I have a global translator plugin for WP, and it looks like google is indexing every page in like 30 different languages. Well, lets see how that goes and if I end up in supplemental hell or something.
