"2020 Twitter Porn Ban" is it really Coming?

HI, i thought i should ask for your opinion on this on going debate about the "Rumor" that twitter won't allow any adult content on their platform from January 2020, I say its a rumor because according to the new twitter TOS which will be executed from Jan 2020 i haven't seen anywhere they mention about this but still a lot of people are worried that the ban might be real. So i wanted to hear the thoughts of BHW members on this.

I think they will ruin good percentage of their popularity with this, as it gives them some uniqueness within other popular social networks at some way.
 
I don't think so. That would be a very stupid move. plus if they are ever going to do that they would make an absolutely clear and public announcement.
 
No, the new TOS is just requests NSFW account to mark their contents as sensitive, not ban NSFW contents. Just don't post something too much like gore or underage.
But, well, who knows. Maybe it's just the beginning.
 
Will be interesting to see how this plays out, Jack ain't as dumb as Tumbl folks . On the other hand their app is on Google Play/ Apple store and if they get too much sh!t from them for all that NSFW they have and be threatened to be removed... Will be a shame if it happen

Unlike Tumblr, Twitter's traffic is not significantly dependent on people watching porn, so they might as well ban it. The biggest porn account on Twitter has 1.5M or so followers, which is not a lot.

With their new update, I think, they simply gives themselves an official permission to any account in problematic niches without going into details about what is the issue with it. But I don't think they will be full-scale suspending all porn account. At least based on how it is worded in their new TOS.
 
Twitter is trash so, whatever helps then die is a plus to me.

What's the most clear about what's coming in 2020 is that they will ban drawing, cartoon that features porn as it can be linked to pedo. Also, they want to stop all the "rough" porn that features fake rape, voyeurism porn etc...
 
Well, after turning on "mark sensitive", I realize something:
- My account get shadowbanned. The ban doesn't lift after a week.
- New tweets auto flagged as sensitive, even not include nsfw content.
- Engagements drops terribly 50-60%. I almost don't get any likes and rt for hours. Seems that my followers can't see my tweets. - I just post normal pictures, 2 tweets per week, not spam link or using auto software.
WTF are you doing twitter?

But you mention that you turn the "Mark Sensitive" option ON so that means any tweets that you gonna tweet is going to be marked as sensitive, doesn't matter its NSFW or NOT

Again you just turn "Mark Sensitive" button on so the engagement should drop coz now you are dealing with few people who are interested on seeing sensitive medias

Not really. I have many tweets that marked sensitive before (I know when I see it on mobile app), and they are still have good reach.
