Hi guys,

It's just a thread to see what is the best way forward for mass mailing these days? I tried this back a couple of years ago with a bulk email list I purchased. I failed miserably. The list was full of spam traps and I got a good ticking off from MailChimp. I also tried to use a VPS but as you can imagine, I still had a lot of issues.

This time around, I'm willing to make to take things a little more slowly and more co-ordinated. For instance, I would be happy if I started adding an initial 10k to my mailing list, then say 1k per day, or is that still too much.

I understand that I also need to clean my email lists, so advice on that would be great. I am scraping these emails but 99% of them should be kosher.

Any advice at all would be great,

TIA

Hey,

When you say you are scraping emails, what kind of emails are you scraping and what purpose? Scraping is not really the problem, but the list should be cleaned first to find out if you have any spam traps. Are these B2C emails with a specific target audience?

Regards,

The emails scraped have a certain niche (music - scraped from Soundcloud).

Yes, I understand the list should be cleaned first, I've seen a few mentions of this and quickly googled some sites, but didn't have the time to look into it with much detail. The "cleaners" appear to be effective in what they do.

Not sure what the end purpose of the emails is yet, I have a few ideas, but the main problem is of course, safe delivery.

Great!!

Probably better to check deliveries and run some campaign offer with the list that has already been cleaned to see deliveries and clicks. Would suggest getting a list of Opens, Clicks and segregate these from the rest and use Mailchimp etc. to send out emails on with offers/campaigns on a regular basis.

Hope this helps!

That part is self-explanatory really, I'm more looking at the actual techniques used to scale up a mass mailing in the best way possible

1) Cleansing email lists? Which sites / strategies are the best - trying to tap into other people's experience here...
2) Scaling it up. I understand there is more than just MailChimp out there, I also understand MailChimp are more restrictive over spam campaigns. Again, tapping into other people's experiences, what other platforms would be recommended?
3) Numbers? How aggressive can I be with these campaigns?

TIA

Hey,

1) For Cleaning lists there are a few which can be easily found. Some of the ones I have personally used would be briteverify; it is expensive though.
2) Right, there are a few which are out there. Will send you a link via PM have a look at it; you may have come across them but either ways will send it for your reference.
3) The numbers can be scaled up slowly, it does get expensive and sustaining becomes an issue after a while without appropriate funds in place. Would suggest a couple of different providers as to which might actually work. I am more into B2B campaigns hence getting a list cleaned for that is much more easier.

Sending you the PM you can have a look at the link.

Regards,

Thanks for the sound response. Also, do you ever worry about what landing pages you use? Do you link directly to your money sites?

if you are scraping your leads then you should clean as it will save you a ton of money in the future

-first clean your list with software that removes specific words like "spamtrap" "spamcop" "dnsbl" that also removes wrong format emails
-scrub your list with known spamtrap, dead emails, bad domains list , for many years i have gathered around 7gig of trash
-find a way to remove bounce emails like using interspire or anything you can think of
-add a unsubscribe link or remove me email on the bottom of your sales letter

the purpose of above mention is to make your list as clean as possible thus saving you time and money

BUT if you have the money to pay for it then theres a lot of companies that will gladly clean your scrape list for you

I had a similar problem sometime back and I was hasty about things and also didnt want to risk any of my accounts. got a guy on fiver to do it for me, sent results over to me. list was smaller than yours though (10K)
not a long term thing though

I tried sending bulk mail with web mail provider.. as you know basically free of charge.. Because I just want to send 30,000 emails everyday.. It was not big deal.. but if you want to send more.. you need many works to do.

a host with a single ip would even get in trouble sending 500 per hour thats 12k per day and thats a paid host also there is no way in hell a free web mail provider would let you send those amount of email not even in a span of month.

I have had some success with sendviper for sending to my 175,000 list of scraped emails. As far as cleaning your list, Neverbounce works, but it's expensive.

I have a lot of experience with this. You really, really need your own SMTP server with something like sendy or mailtrain to make it go. Sending to scraped lists, even when you clean the hell out of them and you do everything right with the email composition, you will still burn out your domains and IPs mighty fast. It is a real art to do effective prospecting without a native list. I first started 5 years ago, and I still feel like a newbie sometimes

@Dr. Mary Can you tech me what is they best to send email in primary inbox email in bulk or if you can provide your service and send it for me that's fine either.Anything suits you better.
