2017: Death of Facebook?

I found an article like this on yahoo finance. FB is just going to die just like myspace.

Well, it's true that an awful lot of FB accounts are false, (hey, our community is largely responsible for that), thus the value of FB based on its current membership numbers is inflated. And it's also true that MySpace collapsed as a major social hub---perhaps somebody should backward document the signs that should have predicted its decline, and apply the same methodology to Facebook. So there is a factual basis for believing FB will not be a major player in a few years.

Come 2018, will there then be 2 major forums in the BHW social media section that are utterly passe, yet are never discontinued?

Facebook won't be allowed to die, unless the owners plan something larger at the same time.
I only see one mistake they should avoid and that's ONLY monetizing with ads (ex: Myspace). That pushes people away, so I'm sure their team can think of better ideas. Maybe soon these Social Networks will have paid memberships where you can access better features, that would make kids go somewhere else though..

Although the research is flawed indeed, you dont need a research to predict that Facebook will die.
There is nothing behind that platform besides its user base. You need to offer at least something useful, otherwise ditching the platform becomes as easy as switching a channel on TV.

I agree that Facebook stats are largely miscalculated and that that's where a lot of the "value" of the company is derived from but the fact of the matter is Facebook will not die in the next 3 years.

Will it die eventually? Probably...but I just don't see it happening soon.

My brother wrote a piece on his site about this and I think a lot of what he has to say makes complete sense: http://www.thecasualmarketer.com/princeton-study-says-facebook-will-lose-80-of-users/

I think it is definitely going down hill...at what rate...I'm not exactly sure.

The unsocial network has already lost a lot of it's younger users it will continue to decline and hopefully sink. I must admit it was good for marketing but now I hate it so much I can't bare to log on for any reason.

It seems to me like another way of marketing. "Lets everyone aware that (FB)pu55y won't be available after 2017". So, take advantage of it as much as possible. :D

I never liked Facebook for personal use.I actually liked MySpace back in 2006.I tried Facebook when it came out but didn't like the platform and the boring look of it.As for making money on Facebook, there are way to many fake accounts on there for me.Seems like a waste of time.Facebook will die soon, because something new and fresh will come and everybody will flock to it.

Facebook still relevant,
for company update.

For example, if BHW down, people will refer to BHW fan page for update.

This apply by artist, company etc. That's make FB still alive till now.

Facebook team's answer to this about Princeton losing all their students was hilarious

It's hilarious what people believe just because it appeared on the news. But when you are told about god and religion you won't believe.

Oh, come on...it has to many investors and huge amounts of money are running through this company. So, it cannot just perish in a couple of years.
