Reciprocal linking is okay if it is helpful. Having a page that has 500 outbound links (link from your site to another) from people you link exchange is hardly natural or helpful.

Reciprocal linking is okay if its helpful. An example would be working on a project with another blog or website. You both link to each other to . promote the project or what ever. If you haven't noticed this is the WHITE HAT seo forum. Links for the sake of links are not white hat (the whole point of this subsection) if they don't serve a purpose or help visitors in someone. Like I said earlier this post is not for affiliates looking quick commission.

I don't think you need 1000+ links to be honest. If pagerank is exponential and a Pr 1 is XXX times weaker than a PR 2 link and so on. It will take a lot of time to create good content but I personally enjoy sharing. People who share great information consistently(think 7878) can be seen as experts and referencing them is much easier for people. Once you establish yourself as someone who knows their stuff then it creates a snowball effect os sharing and linking. The first 50-100 links should be toughest but it gets easier as you get more respect.

Sharing is always good.

The first links will be the toughest of course but you are just getting started.
Mistakes will also be made but you learn from them.

A person can linkbuild for a given keyword for a month and still not rank. Knowing how to linkbuild and rank is another.

it seems your an idealist type....
From my experience, you will not last a year using your method my friend...
Your method is time consuming, consumes a lot of time, expensive and will not guarantee to rank...

Been doing IM for over a year now. I have a new website ranking on 3rd page just by guest blogging and writing content. If you take the time to share information that answers questions people will talk about it. If they don't, reach out to people who have an audience. Like I said: this is for business owners not affiliates

Thanks for sharing and the effort put into this post. Once you have more experience, Most of your views will change.

It is not bad to learn something new. I need to do some research about new techniques and strategies in SEO. internet is such dynamic world where anytime there are changes made. I need to be updated. this forum is such a big help for us newbies. thank you.

The idea that you will get kudos and rank for being "social" is sometimes true, You might, say 1 in 100 might...just..eventually.

I'd never say how much money I make in IM - but I will say 90% of my offsite work is automated and outsourced.
Penguin and Panda have only ever improved the value of my sites (traffic shot up after May 23rd on most of my sites) and I turn a brand new domain from "zero to hero" inside 12 weeks most of the time with sod all in the way of cost or effort.

But you "engage with your reader(s)" and "provide value" with your new blog..and in 6 months time when you finally get your first genuinely engaged reader or subscriber, remember that a 3% conversion rate is excellent, so there's every chance that at some point in the next 15 years you'll make your first dime.

The crowning turd on this pile of SEO exrcrement is the link and mention of the lord os self aggrandizing, over charging self righteous priggish twaddle of "Moz" mentioned at the bottom.

Moz - A con trick of a site. Regurgitating the same dull and ineffective bullshit it always has. "Content and engage" - which against GOOD EFFECTIVE linking "COntent and engagement" is no more effective than it was in 2002. In other words - It loses..every fucking time.

Allied to great (and substantial quantity) of links content wins. On it's own, and without a pre-existing audience - content alone - no matter how much of it you put out - is like pissing into a facing wind. Hard work and at the end you'll realise you might as well of either not bothered or just pissed your pants anyway.

All I know is it works for my sites. I can rank a site blackhatworld or whitehat, I choose the whitehat method because I actually like it,sorry if that's hard for you to believe! This post wouldn't be because of my criticism of ultimate demon previously right?

No idea who you are or that you criticised anything in the past. Quite happy to requote you. And thank you - and plus rep you. (which you'll see I've done)

UD and SEO accounts for about 5% of my online income, so you can say whatever you like. I'm just an affiliate - In this case an affiliate that uses and profits from this tool every day.

Any tool or service that can't take and accept criticism isn't worth it no matter what.

Here i'm known as the guy who sells Ultimate Demon, but if you go to other forums I'm the guy who sells golfing holidays in Portugal or car rentals in Berlin or sells camper vans in Michigan. Sure some of my sites predate link building altogether, I've had some sites since 1996 before Google. But now I use UD, hell I use SENUke, I use White hat, I use services, I write 60,000 words a week minimum myself, I create links all over the place.

I've been syndicated by Forbes, Bloomberg, CNN, The Huff Post and many others using White hat techniques amd show others how it's done

This was about 2 weeks ago. Not a "PR mention" but entire blog posts from my sites syndicated with multiple backlinks by serious authority sites. I can do this with minimum effort, In none SEO niches (specifically auto) this is really easy. SEO is the hardest as the people who syndicate you are very savvy about giving backlinks and know their value. But I can do it, and do it regularly (though not exactly to order)

So no point implying that I don't know or value or use White hat..you might as well teach your grandma to suck eggs.

Doesn't stop UD from being a really effective tool if used properly. If you don't get success from it maybe you don't use it properly
Doesn't stop the services that Moz provides from being hugely overpriced and the advice they give to be generic mush regurgitated over and over again.
These WH sites have talked about the end of link building techniques and every Google update since Dewey and Fritz as if it were the "anti spam messiah". They were wrong every time.

So wrong it beggars belief. They are like the "End is nigh" shouters who quote a date on their "A board", then the date comes and goes.... and they just paint on another date in the future and start again.
Don't they get sick of being wrong?

Hell I'm pissed that SAPE links work! After all we've been told about content, contextm relevance, social proof.. all packed up and trashed by the fact that you can rank just about any site in any niche with empty no content - no relevance - no context links. Real high value keywords ranked and spanked in days.

Sites going from PR N/A to PR4 inside 90 days and Google doesn't bat an eyelid, just gives it top billing.
How fucking stupid is their algorithm if it can't spot that a one page affiliate site with 500 words of plagirised content is really REALLY unlikey to gain PR4 inside 90 days?
How do they think that is done with anything other than black hat techniques?

Yet Google has let this go for well over a year now, Penguin 1 and 2 have skipped right past them, Panda couldn't give a flying fuck about them, they keep accruing PR they keep gaining page 1 in Google for the most commercial terms based on these links and these links alone.
Not just the odd site here or there.. there are hundreds - thousands of these sites ranking with links that have no content around them, placed on sites with no relevance to the topic of the target site, using SWL in some cases..none of that seems to matter one iota to Goole, Panda, Penguin..nothing. Thick shit algorithm missed the lot.

They top SERPS for massive keywords and cash in for a year or more on nothing but links that have no content and no context and are 100% irrelevant to the niche.

Shit that makes me look like a dumb twat as I was sure by now at least context stood for something.. Seems sometimes against really powerful PR links that doesn't matter a jot.

I'm aware it's dangerous and yes the network will likely go down in a few months or a year or so whatever, but by then some of these sites will have raked 100's of times their investment back for the owners and they won't give a fuck - they'll stop paying, ditch the sites with a wallet full of cash - and move on. I'm sure the guys and gals at moz will have another hallelujah day then as well and claim that's the end of some epoch. Equally sure they'll be wrong - as they always have been in the past

The take away? Moz is a rip off spinning the same regurgitated nonsense month after month.

I know this does work for some. I've got a couple of "personality sites" that I've never built a link to. But fuck-me-backwards and call me Susan..they took a frick of a long time to build up. Years not months. They are brilliant, and if you have 18 months and can write 500 words a day and engage on others websites expecting little or nothing in return for months on end then this is slightly safer (see below) way to go.
You want to profit BIG inside a couple of months, have a repeatable process you can transfer to dozens of clients or dozens of your own sites.
Then get yourself some links.

Trouble is with DP, and TP and WF, they all talk about anything other than white hat as if it was stuck in some sort of bubble. They still talk about "forum spam" and "blog spam" as if any serious "none White hatter" still acts in that way. They attack out dated ideas with diatribe like "These Black Hatters point 1000's of spam links made on forums at their sites" No we don't?
As if anyone serously does that or has done for years!

It's only $5000 (or 3 easy payments of $1670) - or like Moz you have a tool that does site analysis and keyword analysis (so like something like serpbuddy which is $15 a month and majestic which as about the same coupled with Google WMT which is 100% free) except Rand wants TWO HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS A MONTH FOR IT..

But suckers buy it.. Cause it's "White Hat" casue they've been told anything other than the way White Hat works is scary shit. Leaving the true White Hat path will destroy their site, vote the black shirts in, release the bubonic plague and kill their first born.

I advise anyone here who thinks these slow painful ways to possibly progress (but more likely give up due to the huge resource of time and effort needed to get anywhere) is better, please go to Digital Point, Traffic Planet, Warrior and read the QQ ing posts from all the long term members who claim...
