Hi

Some websites with very low trust have placed on their pages sitewide 20'000 links linking my boss' company. It would have been great if these websites had a citation and trust above 20. But it is not the case unfortunately.

1) How bad is it ?
2) What should be the minimum trust score of tolerated websites linking my boss' website ?

Thank you in advance for your always awesome advices!

Cheers
C.

If they are using company name as anchor and than its not bad if they are targeting keyword than its bad.

1) How bad is it ?

Depends, on what keyword is used, niche of linking domain, its metrics and backlink profile, and many more.

2) What should be the minimum trust score of tolerated websites linking my boss' website ?

There is no such thing as a minimum trust score. Everyone evaluates a link in his own way and decides afterwards whether it is a good or bad link.

If you don't have the necessary knowledge to analyze the situation and take proper action then you should hand over the task to the right person.

Thank you both for your quick answer.

I guess that I should have removed 20'000 sitewide links coming from a website with zero trust and zero citation. Even if uses the name of the company as anchor text. No ?

Since the latest update negative SEO is 100% effective. That's what's going on and your site gonna get demoted for it.
