$2000/mo Membership Site Using Offline Marketing

I really want to thank the OP for this post. I am looking at getting away from CL marketing even though I do well at it, simply because I know eventually that will go belly up.

I took the advice of the OP and made a membership site for Newbies. I don't mind sharing, its NewbieMethods dot com

The only thing I have to do now is put a few finishing touches to the site, finish a years worth of autoresponders, and print the cars to deliver.

The only thing getting me is what to put on the cards. I wonder if I should just put big bold letters saying "make money online" or what. Its a tough decision when you know your getting 1,000 cards printed up.

i never did implement this...anyone else do it recently to any success?

I hoping to sell my membership site and move onto building a new
membership site focusing on a specific area of internet marketing.

I really appreciate this thread. If anyone is still sitting on the fence
with this idea...Don't. With the new year approaching, I hoping to
capitalize on people who make earning more money their New Years
Resolution.

I have read this thread completely and think every single one of you for contributing. The first day I learned about IM, my goal was to have a membership site to teach newbies how to make money online. Here is my take on this.

First you need to have a plan on how your course will be delivered. Content is easy since you are a member of BHW. The problem is to package it in a way to get your members interested.

The best way to do it is to set milestone by creating different modules. At the end of each course you reward them with free stuff for finishing it. Than you get them to take action; that's when you introduce your affiliate links or your own products.

it can be: hosting account, website template, landing page, content creation, ebooks, more advance video course, etc. You get the idea.

They will not be able to continue to the next chapter unless they completed the current chapter.

Also you can create an intermediate course and an advance course. With longer videos and better quality content. When they sign up for the advance course they all good freebies, they get access to your elite forum where real money making ideas are being discuss.

A forum is a must as soon as you have enough members. You set your price base on your content and marketing abilities. You set a goal for them and encourage them at least try.

Give them discount for signing for 3 months, 6 months and 1 full year in advance.

Try the $1.00 trial for 3 or 7 days. That also works very good assuming you have very good contents.

Any updates on this for those who have created a site?

hi,

can you please tell me the exact script or software to use on this project.

I would like to know ASAP as i have launch the sales page but the back end still dont have;
my domain 69g.info

cheers..

If you look back in the thread you'll find a link to the ebook grafxextreme GAVE AWAY here on BHW. That has links to the script, etc. that he recommended. Just a friendly review of 69g.info...saying "Struggle To Live" - and nothing else on the page - may not be compelling enough to get people to give you their email and telephone number.

Curious how everyone has setup their membership sites?

I was thinking about throwing up a nice sales page and then using Aweber to deliver content by linking to password protected folders such as Module 1, Module 2, etc.

Anyone have any recommendations on the best way to "drip" content without spending a fortune on membership scripts?

Thanks so much to the OP for the great idea! I'm going through my HD now organizing my PLR stuff into modules...

I would love to see an example of someone's site that is doing this...

i really wish you would share what your website looks like with us. just because we see your site does NOT mean we are competing with you. especially if we are doing this OFFLINE in our local towns. i think that would be truly truly helpful.

thanks for the awesome tip. With online advertising become supercompetitive I think we can go back to offline methods

Many real estate professionals do this on a daily basis. They go through 1000s of cards. SO my advice is look at what other brick and mortar businesses are doing. They all work!

I think some people are under estimating the power of BHW with this method. You can use everything you learned (or maybe havent even learned) to teach people of the offline world. And they will never know you got it from this site (if they did, they wouldnt need your membership site to begin with!)

A good example could be this: you get a user email asking when they will get content on.. how to get accepted into CPA networks for example. your membership site doesnt have this yet. You do a search on BHW, or just go to the CPA forum, see the sticky on 'how to be accepted to any network' copy paste that to Word (or be fancy and make it a PDF) and BOOM. you just created new content for you membership site in a matter of minutes.

The value of BHW at your fingertips is overwhelming.

Just finished reading all the posts in this excellent thread.

For those who are having issues with the business cards, take a look at the following post:

For content delivery see the following post which includes a link to a auto responder (I haven't tried it as I have autoresponse plus myself):

The take aways that I got from the posts so far is:
A note on the business cards, treat them like classified adds in a two step approach.

This concept is not about building "guru" size lists/members numbers in to the 10,000's - it's about building a community of highly targeted "buyers".

Think smaller lists with higher conversion rates. Creating and nurturing your own herd.

I'm going to implement this idea for a couple of family members - they do the distribution and I take care of the site, we then split the profits.

....

Some questions for those already implementing this strategy:

  1. Are you tracking the effectiveness of the places where you leave your cards to be picked up by prospects.

If so how are you doing it - are you using different domain names, reference codes?

  2. Anyone in the UK doing this - if so, who do you use to print your business cards?

I've seen a number of US based companies doing really good deals - for example gotprint.com is doing 5,000 for $38.55. But with shipping to the UK, it would be cheaper to go with vistaprint.co.uk however they don't offer the same choice of printing formats.

How many of you reading this are serious about starting your own membership website? How many of you are still struggling with the idea? Have questions? Need answers?

There's a lot of info on membership sites on this forum but most of it's "what to do" or they're trying to sell you something else such as a software program or their videos or whatever. How would you like some real answers?

Last year there was a small group of people who convinced GrafxExtreme to lead a chat session on membership. We don't hear from most of them because they're too busy operating their own membership sites to come to BHW.

I've convinced GrafxExtreme to lead another chat session. So, if you have any burning questions on how to promote a profitable membership website now is the time to ask. This is his busy season and it's not easy to get him to sit down to answer questions. Most of us who have tried PMing him know that it can be a week or two before we get a response.

Like the last chat session no copies of the transcripts will be distributed outside of those who participate. The chat session will be free. All you have to do is register.

I have to have a minimum of twenty participants to make it worth his while to do this.

If you were on his last session you know it went for three hours and probably could have gone on for another two. No fluff all of it focused HOW TO information.

This is your opportunity to get the answers you need to promote and build your own profitable membership site. What's stopping you from building your own membership site? What do you need to know to go to the next level?

As the WishMaster would say, "All you need do is ask..."
