    there are 4 or 5 factors that taken together outweigh the relevance of all other ones assembled. They are the most obvious...

    Website structure accessibility;
    Content uniqueness;
    Keywords in URL;
    Page external popularity,
    Quality of sites linking in.

    Any negative one will kick you down in serious way though

    Use of the domain in Adwords?

    Can anybody link to evidence that having your site in Adwords effects your natural rank?

    I've never heard of that one.

    Thanks for the great info. I'm kind of confused about domain factor number three: Domain registration information hidden/anonymous;

    So how was all of this discerned? Is it just an educated guess or did she get a dev on the phone and confirm all of this?

    Someone should set aside a month of his time to discover Google's algorithms. He would set up two identical sites and then slowly carry out tests while documenting everything that happens with him. I'm sure it would be worth it in the end. (Or would it? Since Google can change anything in the blink of an eye.)

    Great, now when you get which factors carry how much weight in the algorithm, let us know :p

    BalingDazzer:

    I think it would take a lot more than a month and two sites to reverse engineer even part of Google's ranking factors and how much they matter but SEOMoz as well as others have done some testing that sheds light on different factors.
