200+ backlinks from the same domain?

I did some searching but couldn't find this question answered.

I made a comment on a PR4 domain last week and his 'recent comments' widget is showing the comment on all 200 or so of his pages. He's got room for 5 recent comments, potentially giving 1k+ backlinks from the same domain. Should I bother trying to keep my links in his top 5 or should I just use it to index a new page and move on?

How long will they last? Its just a widget so they wont stick right?
Links from same domain will not harm you in any case.

Last comment on there was 2 weeks ago, even longer for the ones before that. Looks like they'll stick long enough that maintaining them won't be a huge issue.

All the links won't be PR4 obviously, but they'll be a nice little push for new pages.

Same experience here, got my personal site and commented one a site 1 month ago, now there is about 250 backlinks from that site. Odd.

Now do these "bonus" links have a positive effect?

I think you should try for indexing a new page.
