20 micro niche sites or 1 authority

I found more than 20 long tail keywords with exact searches > 1000, CPC > 1$, low competition and EMD.

All the keywords are in one general area, so they can be combined in one website too. The area itself is very competitive, so if I make authority site I'm afraid it would be difficult to rank.

So, my dilemma is what to do.

MNSs rank faster but needs lots more work to be done, though the authority site is opposite.

What would you suggest?

I would say go for authority , its safe for long term stable income :)
 
Authority, might take more work, but it is working on 1 site instead of 20, and you can have multiple sources of income.
 
since google is ever changing , there is really no sure win just test and error for google big " A " but here the Root . Google Dig GOOD INFO .

no big secret no big deal . create good info . i had change all my web anf adjust to Google " A " and i started to write longer article from just 450 now i am doing 750 words on the least .

It's a lot more fun to create a bigger website and in the long run does it create opportunities, that you didn't expect when you began.

Find a old domain with a history within your kw area and take action.
 
before panda i wld have gone with authority but after panda ive seen many people who have got their sites deindexed for no reason, if u go for an auth site then you'll be putting all your eggs in one basket, god forbids, if that one site gets deindexed or penalized then your sole source of income might get destroyed... think about it
 
Others would argue that after panda G seems to favor larger "authority" sites over microsites.

authority means you put good content on your site and of course original. Since the panda come you have to put good content for your blog.

And for you guys i need suggestion too, i have read feedingthepanda ebook (you can download it on downloads section) and it says that we need to build 1 authority sites rather than many micro niche sites and EMD site, because micro it's no longer "authority". Also micro site just have a few post

So, if anyone have experience on micro niche sites' ranking after panda, please share and let me know..
 
I would go with 1 authority site. More manageable and from experience better results.

Why not you using micro niche website with good content & panda didn't harm any good content website.Your every micro niche site will be authority by good content,if your mention theory is right about authority website.
 
How about 1 Authority site with about 3 or 4 Micros sites that also aim back at your main site? Would that help you Main site more than not having your micro sites? :confused:

I feel like it's better to make few MNSs and one auth. As some OPs suggest not to put all the eggs in a basket.

Not recommended if all of them share one IP, it would have negative effect.

i'm in the same shoes as you are. i could create an authority site for 20 of the keywords i plan to target, but it would take longer to rank for each respective keyword.

instead, i'm creating 1 micro niche website for each keyword i have, and i'm investing $100 into each website for backlinking. each micro niche website takes me 1.5 hours to create, but it's worth it because you're not putting all your eggs in one basket. also you'll rank faster. imagine if google deindexes your authority site : bye bye autopilot income
 
I have done both and trust me micro niche is in it's death throws. I lost 30 micro niche sites spread across 5 adsense accounts all in one day. Trust me micro niche sites do not equal putting all your eggs in multiple baskets. All my sites had unique content written by me or one of my employees, not one had the same template. Good unique content will not protect your micro niche site. Even Xfactor himself no longer pushes micro niche in his latest WSO. He doesnt outright say micro niche is dead.. of course he cant he made lots of money promoting them but he no longer does them. Find xfactor 2 and read it.

why would google deindex an authority site that provides good content for it's users? just doesn't make sense, everyones saying googles getting smart yet your comment is just the opposite...

the whole point of the panda update and every update that will come in future will be to increase it's user satisfaction. when Google plus is released alot of things are going to change trust me.

just imagine Google's current algorithm + control of social networking = the perfect search engine. now google doesn't need to rely on other webmaster (backlinks) to vote you, it will know from the users themselves!
