2 Year Old Aged Domain with no backlinks. Go for it?

Hey members of bhw. I've never toyed with aged or expired domain so I would like some advice on this. Apparently, I've found an aged domain of 2 years old (10 bucks on godaddy) which is not dropped and still indexed in google. As for the PA and DA, they're big fat 0. I have a brand new site which I'm working on at the moment. My idea is to clone this new site of mine using this aged domain since the domain name matches my niche perfectly. But of course, I'm going to use different theme, content, structures etc to make it not look identical. What's your thought? Do you think it's worth a go? I am doing this as my own personal case study between aged domain and new domain though.

If you like the name and it works well then why not. I'm not a fan of dropped or auctioned domains as much as I used to be, and if you're going to link build you will gain PA/DA soon enough yourself.
 
I've good results with the aged domains that still have pages indexed. I'd give it a go. $10 isn't that much to risk and it's good to test things out.

Heh. Thanks guys. I think I'm going for it. Yeah it's relative small site so not too much of a risk.

Normally aged domains are valued because of their aged backlinks. In your case, its just the name that appeals to you. Have you check the domain for penalties and all? It is obviously better than a new domain.
 
Any updates on this case study. I'd love to see the results. I've heard many people say that aged domains with no backlinks offer very little value over new domains.
 
There isn't going to be any benefit SEO wise with no links but if you liek the domain name, go for it
 
If you want to abuse the previous rankings then no, don't go for it.

But if you like the domain then why not?
 
Age is a ranking factor....even without backlinks so not sure what others are saying here. I would rather start a fresh site with an aged clean domain than a new reg domain...as the age gives it more trust in Googles eyes.
 
$10 is the price for a new domain - if you find a domain that is already aged at the same price go for it.
 
If the domain is clean, I guess I would go for it.
 
There's no harm in going for it since it won't cost you much.

However if it has no PA/DA and no backlinks then it probably won't be any more beneficial than going for a brand new domain.

Aged domains are generally more valuable because of their history - backlinks etc. If yours doesn't have much of a history except for the fact its a few years old you may not notice much benefit.
 
I think it will be no big difference if you will go for it or you won't. It's rather some kind of experiment..
 
Give it a go, i have tried this many times and the results are different. some aged domains rank very well some don't its hard to make a strong statement in this case.
