The point with this is that you can use many combinations for your email.
Lets say you registered [email protected]
You can make many variations from your email like [email protected] [email protected] Also doing [email protected]

So the point here is that you can receive emails from many formats so:

1.- You can segmentate all your emails, so you give [email protected] to your business colleagues, [email protected] for newsletters, [email protected] for facebook specially and so on.
This way you dont have to register many emails to have many accounts on different places and organize it.

2.- You can identify which sites are giving away your data by adding as email when you register, for example [email protected] and create a folder that receives emails from that address, that way you will know when it gets spammy and from where it came.

Hope this have a great use for you guys :)

Thanks never heard of that! Very useful to keep my inbox organized

Read this before too , It was already shared here.

I knew about the dot, but never knew about adding +any keyword.

Thanks

I did notice that some days ago when I was using my newly created gmail, it was [email protected], I just added a number 10 at the end for other purposes and I discovered some emails landing on my other gmail.

thanks for the confirmation.

i'm not sure, if i get that right, but [email protected] and [email protected] should mean 2 entirely different addresses, if you were to send an email to any of those, you shouldn't be able to see that email from the other address

the trick only works with inserting period(s) or a plus sign following the way described by OP

[email protected]
[email protected] -> 2 entirely different addresses with different inboxes

[email protected]
[email protected] -> 2 seemingly different addresses with the same inbox

Quiet useful information for many, adding keyword to it will definitely be very helpful in organizing our inbox.

Google has mentioned about the Dot here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/10313?hl=en
But I couldn't find anything about Plus.
