Hi everyone!

Just about a week ago me and my friend started doing seo using the same provider,
We are also in the same niche and targeting pretty much the same keywords.

But the problem now is that it seems like the seo provider is placing 2 backlinks pointing to 2 different domains ( mysite.com , myfirendssite.com) in ONE article, blog post etc.
So what do you guys think about this?
Will it cause less effective rankings?

The more outbound links the blog page has, the PR and Authority distributes equally among your websites.

As long as ranking is concerned, you won't be in any problem unless you guys have unique content.

There have been correlation studies that strongly indicate that the first link on the page takes the lion's share of the link equity.

Good luck to you!

You are both now in with a shout to get conversions...

Stop worrying and get back on with your work...

Thanks for the suggestions guys

If he does 2 links in all of the posts then it will could possibly be a footprint. If you are keeping it on short level then it could be cool but doing in thousand quantity and 2 links in each post and links going to same set of 2 sites would probably look bad to google.

It is not good to get two backlink from one article because Google don't consider these types of articles good.

I just want to ask, you and your friend order from the same SEO provider and then the SEO provider provides 2 links in one article?

2 price for 1 article with two links?

It looks suspicious to have same amount of backlinks in each article with weak content. Number of outbound links per article should show more variation. Sometimes one link, sometimes 5. And of course they should always have different combinations of domains and IPs to avoid footprints.

Okay thanks for all replies guys, but right now i'm starting to get confused because some says that it's okay and other says that it can be bad.
When I check my backlinks I can see that there is at least 3 or 4 links in each article pointing to my site, my friends site and sometimes to a random site which is also in the same niche.
So what would be the final answer for this, good or bad ? :)

That's right, 2 price for 1 article with 2-4 links....

It goes like this:

- The less links, the more power
- Clear pattern or footprint over many articles = bad
- No clear pattern or footprint = good

You should not worry about that because i also uses two links on same article like on squidoo pages, article and private blogs.

I think you should seek for a refund. Because you pay 2 packages and you receive 1 whole services with 2 - 4 link.

So you are receiving the same url report as your friend?

If you're doing article marketing (or hiring someone to do it for you), then it's good to have links to other sites in each article, to give it natural variation. Your seo provider is probably just getting 2 jobs done at once. I don't see how this would be a problem for either of you.

here's the thing, you need to either trust that he knows what he's doing and quit second guessing the guy you hired because you are aware you do not understand this field
or find someone you can trust

It might look suspicious and can possibly leave a footprint, but if the article quality is excellent then I guess you can keep doing that.

I wouldn't be paying someone to provide\promote articles that had links to my competitors. If there were multiple links given outside of the single varied anchor text I'd chosen, I'd expect it to be a site of authority, used as a reference.

1st link on the article has more value as I know.

By the way, your font colour hurts my eyes :( :(
