for me it was not quality it was retention
the first few seconds hooked people and they watched longer than usual

Imo, it was mostly the hook and timing. The video grabbed attention in the first few seconds and was easy to understand without too much context.

i learned the importance of hooks, and curiosity reveal. Cut an interesting part of the content from somewhere in the middle and drop it at the start so viewers are curious to find out the context

My first viral video was successful thanks to its relatable content, attractive opening, and touching on exactly what many people were interested in. What's surprising is that it's not the videos I invest the most in, but the videos that bring clear value or emotion to the viewer.

honestly, for many people the first viral video on TikTok happens when they stop overediting and just hook attention fast. first 1–2 seconds seem to matter way more than perfect quality.
