    Hi everyone.
Just wanted to take a second to introduce myself.

Im from Australia, and have come across this forum a few times over the past year or so.
I've lately found myself landing here more & more over the past few days, as I'm trying to understand Tiered link building.

On a scale of 1 - 10, my level of misunderstanding & confusion on this topic is roughly 359,221,000.

Ive been a graphic designer for years, and have built wordpress sites & phpbb forums, but it's finally come time for me to start taking care of my own projects and get some google traffic.

Before posting this, I was reading the post about that Alien SEO crew on here, before that I was on another page telling me how good GSA SER is, and before that I got sucked in & paid $100 for an online course type thing that would teach me how to get high google rankings.

Right now, im about to go out & buy a fresh packet of cigarettes, bang my head against a wall, then try something to lower my high blood pressure, because it doesn't matter where I read or which forums I search, I just can't seem to find a place that can explain Tiered backlinking to fill in the missing gaps that I don't understand.

I understand the structure (sort of) tier 3 points to tier 2, tier 2 points to tier 1, tier 1 points to your site. But is a tier 1 site your facebook page? or your pinterest? or wtf actually is it.

If someone could point me in a really good direction in regards to this, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks.

And sorry to make my first post a question.

Based on your current knowledge, I think you'd be better off hiring somebody to do the link building for you.

But, 1st tier means the sites which are linking to your money site. 2nd tier means the links pointing to your 1st tier sites, 3rd tier means the links pointing to your 2nd tier sites etc.

Thanks Pitbully, I kinda think you're right about me hiring someone.
But that annoys me a little, I think im more frustrated at the fact that I don't understand it yet.
If I handle the work-load, a program handles the work load, or if another company handles the work load - It doesn't bother me at all,
I just really want to know what's happening on the back end of it all.

Really sorry if the smell of noobness is over powering here, so please forgive me if it is.
But after everything ive read so far, this is how i see it.

MONEYSITE = www-usb-kom. Keyword = buy usb online

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Tier 1 Link = On The Tumblr account of www-usb-kom, a new post with the anchor text Buy USB Online that links to www-usb-kom

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Tier 2 Link = A comment on someone elses (harry for example) blog that has a link pointing to the www-usb-kom Tumblr account (ie - check out our tumblr page).
    That link would be buyusb-tumblr-kom

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Tier 3 Link = A post on a niche related forum that says something like Check harry's blog, there's a dude who wrote this about cool usb's.
The anchor text "This" would link to the post on Harry's Blog.

Man, the more i try to explain this, the more I confuse myself, Im really sorry for noobing the hell out of this.
    Just want to understand this.

Had to use "-" &"kom"instead of "." as BHW thought they were real links & im still in noob territory.

Also, I apologise as this probably doesn't belong in the Introduction section
