1st Page Ranking on Youtube

Hey guys... i was basically wondering if backlinks was the main aspect to ranking on youtube. I know you can rank with views, comments, and ratings...but wouldnt it just be easier to send backlinks? Also i noticed all the high ranking videos have around 50-100 other youtube users listing the video under favs...

well as far as I know there is nothing to do with backlinks for ranking up there on youtube itself. yes backlinks may be good for google but not for youtube.

For youtube you ll just need to mass rate, comments, favorite and increase ur subs and you ll rank higher there.

Backlinks have some effect on the youtube video showing up in the SE for video requests in natural search, sure. However, I don't think it holds any major pull in youtube itself unless you get actual views, comments and most importantly - favorite votes, which is what you are seeing in the " 50-100 other youtube users listing..." comment.

Youtube is all about the fame of the video, views and favorite tags to it as far as making rank within youtube itself. It is user-generated, user-voted and user supported content that gets the best exposure and therefore, the higher ranking withn the service.

If you are simply trying to be found, backlinks and such play into it. However, being on the first page of google's natural video search results doesn't mean you are going to be the first in youtube or vice versa.

It is true none the less...it has a totally different purpose and effect on the outcome of rank in SE vs. rank in youtube.

also its a good thing to embed your YT vids outside of YT and use a *video sitemap* to really get the G-Bots attention, this of course helps with SERPS ranking, which will boost your views / popularity on YT which basically decides which vids rank well inside of YT.
