Yesterday,I bought a domain trough 1and1(yea I know, but the budget is tiny) and I used paypal subscription as a payment method. The domain is active now,but no money have been withdrawn from my paypal lol.The renewal date is set on 2012.This means I got it for freE?

They will charge it at the end of the month from your PayPal account as you`ve set an agreement with them and PayPal.

thrust me they will..i have been trough the same process and it ended this way

I once had a website hosted for a couple of years for free because the company just didn't charge me. Was funny but kind of cool too. I think it was hosting.com. Long time ago.

I thought this too, since I also bought a domain on 1&1 domain.
I doubt they just forget to charge people, as someone on here has already stated, they'll probably charge us at the end of the month :p

nope.. believe me, you will get an Invoice in 3-4 days.
in the invoice, it will be stated that you will be charged within 1 week..
so you will be charged within 10 days from them...

the thing for me is, i have two domains registered 5 days ago still not paid..
my VCC was declined, because they dont accepts vcc..

domain status now is: Domain Registration Error.
but both domains are in account saying expiry 2012..
hoping to pay next week something using paypal.

Ok guys, thank you for your feedbacks.Tought I was lucky enough to get it free, but that would mean only more stress (like they canceling the domain or w/e) so I can't wait to pay for it lol.
1and1 it's really a strange company.
They spent LOTS and when I say lots I mean A LOT OF MONEY advertising and making killing offers.I don't understand why the heck they don't get a better platform and better stuff. As you can see,it costed them more in the long run.

Yeh, 1&1 is weird... They wait a few days to bill you but they usually activate the domain right away. You'll be billed, fear not! ;)

Got the invoice today guys.So yea, they activate the domain and then they send the invoice.

If some hacker would make a program to buy 300k domains a day lol, that would mean only one thing,1and1 will die with huge money lose. But I don't want that, because I know 1and1 member is a BH guy ;)

Had a terribly frustrating experience with 1&1. They charged me for a domain I had purchased 4 months before... I'm pretty sure they charged one of my credit cards then... but wasn't willing to go through months of credit card statements on multiple cards to prove. They never sent me an invoice. Customer service wouldn't answer the simple question, what the heck was this charge for... It was only a few bucks, so I eventually just paid. Total nightmare over a few bucks. They threatened collections. They also reniged on a special offer when I purchased a different domain. Charged me the special offer price on the day I purchased. Then came back and charged my card again three weeks later for the difference between the special offer and their regular price. I've purchased exactly two domains from them... NEVER AGAIN! At best, sloppy business practices... At worst, thieves...
