It called vmware, but it is not going to cure your current predicament. It's only a means to prevent not cure or quarantine a situation that is already out of hand.

Yea VMware Workstation, Virtual PC, or Virtualbox for linux. Basically you can run a "virtual" computer inside your real OS. Like chickuzt said, it won't solve you current problem, but it might be something to consider in the future.

I always use sandboxie to test out dnl'd programs......I dont know if it actually does what its supposed to (not allow writes to the hd) but my PC has stayed clean (I use it when im not sure whether a virus scan is false positive for a keygen or not) Maybe some of the more knowledgable forum members can confirm whether this is actually a more secure or safe method?

sandboxie doesn't work, rootkits are designed to beat that now. malwarebytes, kasperky, combo, etc don't detect the latest generation rootkits. You have to use vmware or just dump windoze all together.

Gone are the days of eradicating a pesky virus thats got tangled in your O/S, its all about rootkits nowadays.... I agree with viewsonic, try a ditch your windaz for all the secure things you dont want stolen and try using linux...

There are load of live distros you just plonk in you cdrom and you off... Ive used 'Ubuntu Privacy Remix' in the past, works realy well. I would post the link but i dont have 15 posts,but im sure if you search in big G youll find it....

That does help.....i was planning on trying a linux install in an extra laptop anyway...now i have a reason to, good luck to the OP...that sucks man
