180 Hops No Sales - What am i doing wrong?

First time i tried clickbank was 6 months ago, which i gave up after i didn't have any sales. The traffic wasn't targeted as i used my website (entertainment niche).

I have decided to try it again. However this time i am serious about affiliate marketing . This time i am getting targeted traffic through email . I have no landing page because i think the cb's landing page is really good. This month i had 50 hops - 3 Order Form and 0 sales . Last month i had 128 hops 0 sales !


What am i doing wrong ? Is it the products that i promote (health and fitness niche) or am i doing something wrong ?

I personally think the stuff promoted in CB are rubbish . I mean why would anyone buy a book about "how to get Thin Thigh" ? I think if i promote actual products such as ray ban, clothes or Electronic tools i have better chance of making money.

Does anyone here know good affiliate program that has actual products for sale? (apart from amazon).

Would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance :D



PS: I have tried both high (75) and low (5.5) gravity .

Advertise on BHW
180 hops without an order is a regular occurance. I have gone over 500 hops without an order before, then got 20 orders in the next 200 hops.

Also, targeted traffic through email? Is this a list you got yourself then?

If not, I highly suspect that this list is not targeted at all, which of course will affect conversion rates.

They are targeted traffic but i think the products that i have chosen are crap. I think because my list are mainly from younger generation , they're are not into reading ebooks !

Im searching for better affiliate programs that people are actually more interested to buy . I believe the problem is that People want fast quick and easy way to achieve their goal, they don't want something that they have to read, that tells them what do to for 4 weeks !

You need to match your product to your traffic

The problem is almost certainly a combination of traffic and your marketing strategy.

So, lets say you like video games. You get added to a generic "video game" email list. Then someone links you to a video game on Amazon, and says "this is great! Buy this video game!" Are you just going to go and buy the video game? No.

There are two ways to sell affiliate products, and you're going to have to take the long route unfortunately:

Users have no trust in you
You don't have an established website, readership base etc in the niche. People don't trust you. They don't know you. So, just because you say "X product is great" doesn't mean they give two fucks.

Instead, you have to do the following:

Find a problem they are having > poke at it, prod at it, point out their problem, make them really not want to have it anymore > provide the solution + provide lots of extra "bonuses" to make the deal seem unmissable (just grab some PLR books)

^^^ Then you'll get some sales. Are you doing this with your list? You need to build a very targeted list for that to work well too.

Users who do have trust in you
You have to do a whole lot less. This is usually where top EPC's come in, if people trust you and have a relationship with you they'll buy your stuff. So don't expect amazing EPC's like the "gurus" have.

I`ll share my stats. about 300 uniques and 20 or more sales. But the traffic is targeted from google.

Wow only 300 unique and 20 of them buy your product . thats awesome .
 
OP, look how many impression hops you got to see whether your audience at least browse the site or close it right away.
If you get impressions, and no sales, the price might be too high.
 
you can try ebay.. it happens.. u shud try products with gravity > 200.

Valuable tips , that was really really convincing strategy
 
As others have mentioned, having targeted traffic could solve your problem. When I first started affiliate marketing, I promoted an abysmal product with a poorly optimised landing page. Even with 800 hops, I only got 1 order form impression and 0 sales. However, a few months later, I promoted a language learning product on websites targeting Spanish-speakers. I eventually had a conversion rate of roughly 5% and this product still continues to provide me with a minuscule amount of money to this day, so getting targeted traffic does help significantly.
 
Imagine if Clickbank had products with landing pages that didn't look like they were made in 2002? I'd be rich right now.

I couldn't agree with you more on this, but I typically avoid products with old school landing pages (I also avoid products that have implemented a javascript exit popup as those popups are bad practice). I can actually create some of those landing pages for Clickbank products using Blogger, so that really says something about the quality.
 
What you could do is create a lander with different angle.
For each product Im sure theres a customer profile.
Create that angle, market to that group and watch sales roll in.

Don't worry, I got almost 500 hops yesterday and no sales... I found out that one of my keywords might be way too general and bring in people who aren't looking for what I'm promoting. Just gotta keep refining the system.
 
you maybe sending your emails to kids....try to determine the kind of people on your list...if they are not targeted then look for other products to offer them....
 
Well, just dont stick to one product only.
Keep testing with other products.
Sometimes they convert within 10 clicks, sometimes they wont even in 500 clicks.
This is how affiliate marketing works, keep on testing, find your best offer and scale up :)
 
When selecting your product you need to choose a product that solves a serious problem for the person. Choose something that keeps them up at night and that they can't stop thinking about like a physical problem. These are the types of sales that convert in my experience.
