$17.00 woohoo

Ok, so it seems I was getting most if not all of my clicks from my older blog. So I changed the adsense text link on my newer blog to the largest format and its now placed just under the category navigation. Also I inserted in the top header an image only 468x60 adsense banner. Got a few monetized clicks almost immediately after making those changes.

If anyone knows....while trying to monetize my blog, what services DO NOT go together?

I am now starting to sign up for different affiliate networks and I'm wondering if say putting adsense on the same page or site as CB or Amazon or one of the others will make big "G" mad. Any experiences with this? Mucho thankso in advance.

(I read somewhere that if another affiliate network ad looks like an adsense ad, G doesnt like that and will ban you or beat you with a rubber hose or something.)

So now that I am doing research on monetizing, the subject of content always keeps tossing up walls on my inspiration. While I'm not a opposed to and will hire independent writers maybe from odesk or something or keep the money in the BHW community by hiring here, I was thinking..... content hmmm.....I get several magazines that I don't have time to read, even the newspaper. If I wanted to write daily about something, maybe some trending topics from my local paper would be good to start with. Also, lets say you get those pop mechanics magz, or fashion magz, those are monthly and their marketing dept. spends millions on trying to figure out what people want to read, and what content will attract their readers on a monthly basis. After all, the more readers they have the more advertisers they have and the more they can charge. So the trends in the mags may be a good place for bloggers to start. Example, Im looking at a pop science mag now, and the main topic is about new inventions that could revolutionize.....etc.... So maybe go out and get a mag on the niche your in see what they talk about.

Hey why re-create the wheel, just get on the bus for the ride. Just thought this might be a good idea for fellow bloggers to get some good quality unique content for their blogs.

Autobloging can be tough, and can be easy. It depends so much on your keyword. So choose it wisely by comparing with competition's weakness, don't just blindly build them without research. Choose trendy keyword is always worked for me. Because that's what bring a lot of traffic. Not the niche keyword, but that's just me. I am sure others will find it differently.

When think about it, learning how to build a perfect autoblog, you need as much knowledge as much time as learning how be good at guitar. To be good at it you need a lot of practice. So, most important thing is to not stop building them and learn from each one of them. Another alternative that my friends do is just build as many as they can using script and just let them be. I don't like that.

Here is what i have experienced and might be helpful to you guys:

1. To expect clicks over +$1USD at 90% of the time, your blog must at least have PR1-2. Or you will find your average CPC so low you want to be sick!

2. To expect click every day you need to rank on first page Google with your niche. When i do one autoblog i aim to make it rank 1st page of Google always. To do this i need to find the keyword that others fail on my SEO test: Title tag, desc tag, h1 body...footer or in other words, keyword density score. Backlinks is 2nd.

3. To make $10 a day you need at least 80-100 clicks a day or about 10,000 impression. (that's about 20,000 visits per day if tracked with GA, roughly)

So if you don't have your 10,000-20,000 visits per day yet, then you should NOT expect more than $10 a day.

As for the rest you do the math.

Oh just forgot one other thing. Many people when doing autoblog they spend too much time on technical stuff but less in marketing research. I suggest do the opposite, and you should find it much easier to monetize.

Gratz. You're definitely on the right path. Ramp it up now (which it sounds like you are planning on doing). You're smart to stick w/one method & figure it out before branching out into too many things.

Dikoro, you wrote a wonderful response with added tips. Would you mind explaining what you mean by "trendy" keywords?

Thanks

Hey guys, I really appreciate the replies here, and Im hoping others like me are learning something from the Vets posting here giving us tips.

I wanted to make a big update, I got my first CB sale!! Woot! $66 buckaroos.

Im gonna keep on banging and altering my semi/ab for best results and report my findings here so hopefully we can all learn to be great IMs. You never know when one or two of us on here will be working together. Thanks BHW vets for guiding us noobs.

mmm.. $17 isn't something that I would want to brag about, but good for you, at the very least you took action..

Just need to up the ante and get $300 per day..

Actually that was my point. I had only just hooked up with adsense deciding to start monetizing. I will look at this like basic physics, the same laws that apply to the smallest particles apply to the largest ones too. No matter where you go 2+2 will always = 4 type of thing. So now I know it works first hand. And Im letting other noobs like myself know that too. I will make this bigger.

Guys, Im trying to find a good plugin that will "AUTO" tweet any post, such as from my WProbo or similar to any of my twitter accounts. I have searched hi and lo, I know about "twitter tools" and some a couple others, but they either only give the option to tweet the post when creating the post, or don't work at all.

On my main site, I'm using "tweet old post" which actually does what it says. I would like something that tweets at the time a post is made from FB. Any suggestions please?

Ok, so Ive tried to hook up "strictly tweetbot" to see if that will work, nothing so far. Im fairly confused as to find a good autotweet from post for WP.

Now, I have never ordered any services for my 2nd semi/AB, but I just ordered up a backlink package from d3t0x (a BHW member). My 2nd semi/AB doesn't even show up on the first 50 pages right now and has very little backlinks. So here is a good test on his services.

Holy cow, ok, figured out the autotweet plugin. I'm using "Tweet this" auto settings. Great plugin so far took me all damn day to find it. The previous plugin I was attempting "strictly tweetbot" claimed to be able to auto tweet to multiple twitter accounts, but I could never get it to work. Maybe someone else will have better luck with it, seems like a powerful tool if it will execute.

So far on the two blogs, Ive set up adsense for search, different size ads, adsense for mobile (mobilizing for high end mobile devices with WPTouch) and have set up ads for RSS. Let's see what happens. Ill be playing with insertions of adsense on single posts now, but need to be careful as to DMCA laws (copyright). I have one hop running from CB that I have already received one sale from. I'm starting to feel it now.

Ive set up hosting for a 10+ year old domain that I purchased some time ago, and have selected the theme I like. Will be working on structure then content. Then go for the money.

Oh yah, and for all the domains that I have sitting Idle I figured why not set up "adsense for domains" while they are just sitting there, so thats hooked up now too on the "unused" domains for the time being. Ill report any happenings on those.

And for any noobs, like me, reading this and pondering, just do it man, we have to start somewhere, and if we run into any problems we can't solve on our own, we have the good folks here at BHW to help out. And thanks for posting those tips dikoro.

Quick update: On my #2 semi/AB I (which I previously taken no action to move up in the SERPS), which just yesterday wasn't even showing up for my two main keywords on the top 50 pages are now showing up on page 13 and page 8 on G. I have done only two things recently: 1. hire d3t0x high PR BL service 2. hooked up "Tweet This" to autotweet all my posts coming into my blog, which has been running since last night.

Now whether or not d3T0x has gotten to work on my BLs or not is probably the tell tale sign. And my traffic has increased 3 fold. Im hoping he didnt start on my project yet, because that will mean I got alot more link juice coming. LOL

FYI.

Ok, so here are my earnings so far from semi/auto blog, and what I mean by that is, I use certain features of WPRobot to pull in certain information. This is actually from 2 sites, mainly from one. I do spend some time on them, for looks mainly (what a user sees when they arrive.) When I first started I used to have it in my head that visitors would see the front page first, but that's never how they arrive, they normally arrive from some long tail KW off of a search. I think thats an important factor for us noobs to keep in mind.

I recently ran into a problem on both sites using WProbot. It seems if you have too many processes running youll start to get 500 errors. I got this mainly when I was editing in the back end and and looking at my site in another window at the same time, while all the other processes were going. (hostgator) I actually had to shut down the auto portion, so Ill tone down how many feeds WPRobot is pulling from. I think it has something to do with the crons.

So far my process has been, not to be lazy, good aesthetics on the sites, and how visitors "see" my content whether it be auto or unique. Ill be bringing some aged domains online, Im just trying to figure out what area "niche" or "microniche" Ill aiming for. That will determine where I get my feeds from, keywords etc, and how I will have it displayed...and its normally where I get stuck in my mental process. Funny too, I actually had some direct contacts ask to advertise directly on one of my sites. (This was kind of my goal when orginally setting up the second site, and will be my goal in the next few sites) Oh yah, I leave comments open on each post for about 3 days, then I go through them to approve, I will actually alter the spammy ones and change their backlinks to my other site lol, then approve. I do allow trackbacks and pings for a short time, just so they keep creating backlinks to my articles, then I take them down. ( I really don't know the effect of this.)

So again, my intent is not to go for 100s of autoblogs, but more focus on a good handful and spend time on each and create an easy DMO (daily method of operation). Plus I think that's more fun anyway.

(Well I cant seem to get a picture attached, but Im at $83 bucks roughly since hooking up on adsense and 2 CPA sales for $133 commish. Maybe it did attach? My browser is buggy.)

Quick update, Im using the woo gazette theme. And boy does it seem to load slow. Anyone have any experience with woo themes or woo gazette in general? I just did the hyper cache+ dbcache + minify combo on the site. (after research super cache and w3t) I chose to try this option for speed.

Ok, pheeww! What a pain in the butt. On one of my blogs on HG, I was going over the process limit of 25. This was causing 500 errors, due to wp-chron.php firing and looping or something. Took me all yesterday until now to figure it out (hopefully). I thought it had to do with the plugin POSTIE, in a way it did but not. What it really was, "cbnet ping optimizer" was getting caught in a loop every time postie would put something new up. So I deactivated it and uninstalled, everything seems to be smooth right now. Had nothing to do with WPRobo either it seems, because I originally set cron jobs for it, so why would it access wp-cron.php? duh.

Anyway, while I was in the ping list I decided to clean it out. Here is an updated ping list (some of these may go down in the future so have a set time you clean out your ping list).

That being said, does anyone know of a good plugin that can optimize pinging?

Just focus on whats working, and seems like adsense is, so only focus on adsense for now and scale it up, forget the doomsayers. Well done, great feeling knowing you are making money each and everyday even if it's just a little bit at the beginning.

By the way, its against Google's TOS to share the CPC and RPM.
