1) Yes. The trick is to pick one service, learn it well, master it, not get distracted by what other people are making in another niche and all that nonsense, and apply that service to one industry. For example, you can specialise in "Lead Generation for Dentists". Upwork is just a channel, not the strategy itself. Fortunately, there was an abundance of opportunities on Upwork for the niche I specialized in. You can spot such abundance of opportunities in other channels - facebook groups, telegram groups, Linkedin etc.

2) Invest in building your profile. Fake it till you make it. Spend some money to buy Upwork reviews, client testimonials etc when your profile is fresh new. Treat this as a solid business.
