Hey guys
Linkbuilding is all about building nice and quality backlinks to your blog or web site. In search engine optimization (SEO), page rank is at least partially determined by the number of sites that link to yours. It's important to gain backlinks honestly, and if a lot of other sites link back to you, you will naturally get more traffic to your page. The more links you get to you site, the more quality visitors you'll get from the search engines through the world.

15 Link Building ways to Help you Promote your Blog

1. Blog Commenting. Easy way to get backlinks, do comment on blogs. Use Follow List to find out blogs related to your niche.

2. Web Directory. You can submit your blog to Directory but Nowdays Google, doesn't put so much importance on the free Web Directory listings. However, I still like to submit my blog to Free Directories.

3. Link Exchange & Blogroll. This is most common way to increase your backlinks but Keep in mind you don't want too many outbound links, so don't go crazy with link exchanges.

4. Forum Posting. These days Many Forums provide link via signatures of signed up users. If the forum is a popular one, a backlink can be extremely valuable. In a lot of cases however, administrators don't allow links in forums posts. Some administrators even prohibit the search engines from indexing their content.

5. Submit your voice on Digg - First build a solid profile, where you have a network of loyal diggers.

6. Social Bookmarking. These days Social media is very popular source of backlinks. At least bookmark yourself.

Create good content on your website, other members will eventually bookmark you and you'll get a free backlink. A good example is delicious.com and digg.com.

7. Stumble upon. At least hit the"I like this" for your web page. If you can find stumble upon partners, this will help bring traffic to your website beyond expectations. This method is explained in detail in one of my posts on 8 Simple Steps to Increase traffic via StumbleUpon.

8. Press Release. Submit press release about events in your business and website. Of course include the link to your website. The most popular press releases website is prweb.com

9. Squidoo Page. It's easy and if you have the time to develop it, it can be very authoritative. If you don't there's heaps of services out there to help you out. Totally far-out drag and drop modules, not so strict moderators, solid backlinks and a chance to get some quality traffic too.

10. Rent links from others website - Text-Link-Ads is most likely your best option.

11. Article directories. Publish content for directories such as eZineArticles, GoArticles, thewhir or iSnare. Don't forget to "add your website link in "About Author's" Area.

12. Join Yahoo Answers. Providing useful answers, along with a link is an easy way to earn a back-link. This method is explained in detail in one of my posts on Marketing your Blog on Yahoo Answers.

13. Link Baiting. It is essentially a piece of content placed on a web page - whether it's an article, blog post, picture, or any other section of web - that is designed for the specific intention of gathering links from as many different sources as possible.

14. Create Hubpages about your website, products, services or anything related. Also include links to your website.

15. Spread the Love. Dedicate a post or two per week to link to other blogger's posts that you found useful.
Thanks

Nice tips to built back link that is very important to increase traffic.

Nobody knows how linkschanging works (or not) for google. Try add som links from your site to another (and back) or remove it and you will see...

Thanks for the tips. Mostly known to many people but nevertheless helpful to others.

This is outdated information. Article Sites, Directories & Social Bookmarking sites no longer give you a lot of juice.

Most of them are outdated or misunderstood.

Some that still work:

1)Blog Comments, Do Follow on good related sites (hard to comeby)
2)Social Bookmarking only for trash traffic and awareness, but they are all nofollow, so used them for awarness, the top 10-20.
3)Squido lense still works, if u get good content, it becomes do follow.
3)Yahoo answers for traffic
4)Buying links, but only place them on 2-3 pages of the domain and even better in content.
5)Hubpages not sure.

This forum is full of outdated crap, by members that want to score some rep or w/e. It becoming a trash like DP.

Bah... We need some better moderators...

Although very old techniques, no harm in posting them for others. What people may no, others may not. Thank you.

you forget about backlinks like .edu/.gov or wiki. they play very important parts in boosting up a search term for a certain URL.

I've tried adding wiki links to my site and got very best results :) and here is what I think about its benefits:

Generates a good number of inbound links for your site
Provides easy options for including targeted keywords in anchor text
Increases traffic, as wikis are visited by millions of users
Offers good possibility for deep linking
Doesn't require the user to possess expert technical knowledge
Builds the online reputation of your brand
Proves your expertise in the niche industry
Creates one-way inbound links

Thanks for the tips as well ;)

they are old tech. but they still work for not very competitive sites/keywords

And when they get caught by big G then don't cry lol...
However they won't get your site penalized for now! ;)
