Recently, I was victimized in a chargeback fraud scandal and I'm left -$1300 in the hole. My Paypal account contains all of my real personal information.

NCO Financial is what I believe to be Paypal's collection agency, I understand they will harass me, but will they confront me at my door?? Also, technically because it isn't debt and there is no proof of debt, are they allowed to "bring me to court" as some threats would probably suggest?

why don't you just call them and ask for some info on this matter ... the girls from paypal all have squeaky voices and i assume are all blondes who double their money by also doing erotic call center work...

if the proof of the chargeback is good enough they will harass and eventually try to bring you to court but if you don't have anything to liquidate they will just send you junk mail :)

that's why there are stealth paypal accounts :)

Tear PayPals letters up, put them in the bin and ignore them. If Paypal chose to give a scammer their money, that is their fault, not yours. You owe nothing.

A chargeback is different than dispute, they did not voluntarily favor the buyer. In fact, PayPal gets hit with additional charges when there are chargebacks.

I would not trust Paypal with the change down the back of my sofa.

I'm only half-asking, but I assume it's safe to say that the OP's PayPal account is gone forever, right?

no, paypal won't be knocking on your door. pretty much, you can tell them to go fuck themselves. I highly doubt that they would sue over $1300, but obviously, the debt can affect your credit.

Exactly, I complete agree with this. I don't think paypal will be bothering even knocking on your door for these funds. At worst cases I believe they will send you some mail asking for you to pay, if they have your SSN it may or may not affect your credit score. I am not fully sure if it does or does not. But don't worry everything will be fine, if you ever need to use paypal again just get a hold of a stealth paypal account and you should be good
