Last year I found a rather easy way to rank well with tumblrs. I will mainly use them for SEO and link to my converting money sites via affiliate marketing. The goal is to create 500k unique new visitors from search engines per day to my network of around 100 tumblrs in the same niche. Yep 100 tumblrs with 5k visitors a day is the basic calculation. To avoid network destruction I will limit each account to 2 or 3 blogs. I expect some will be banned sooner or later and will create stock pile of new tumblrs on the fly. To stay under the radar I am using 3 different laptops and 2 mobile devices. During the entire time I will be traveling to a new country/city every 2 weeks. This way all my new blogs will have totally new IP numbers. Besides I will be using VPNs for my older core tumblrs that I already have.

I will do everything, manually. I expect a work load of about 60 to 90 minutes per day. I don't care about followers. I am confident my content will be liked and reblogged as I build the network.

At this time I am preparing the content (shooting photos myself and harvesting filler stuff) and intent to start my world tumblr tour in June. From there I should reach my goal within 3 or 4 months.

That's all at this time. I will post updates when I make bigger steps.

Should be an interesting journey! My last money site is still ranking thanks to tumblr, I've never really considered ranking the actual tumblr blogs, I'm guessing the travel niche is what you're going for.

Best of luck. I'm also working on a Tumblr journey, though different it still revolves around Tumblr blogs being a good source of traffic. While I'm still in the stages of trying to make $200 a month, it's still another active Tumblr journey if you wanted to get some different sorts of views on it all.

    Best of luck!

Time to draw a small summary for my tumblr journey that I started earlier this year. I made a little bit of revenue with almost zero cost and it has been going the way I intended, but I got lost on the path. While the concept is good, I need to find more productive ways to go around this.

The only way to do my stuff is manual. It's a struggle posting on tumblr in a organized way while pretending to be 100 different people. While I just need to make 30 to 40 posts across 300 blogs per day = yes, around 1 blog posts per blog every 10 days, I have to organize it in a way that will be more productive. Bots and queues are just good for spam, but not for building quality tumblrs that rank well.

So far I made around 10k for this year. It comes from around 1 Million page views per year with a CRT of 6.5% and revenue of 0.13 US$ per visitor. Those metrics are not bad at all. Actually, now that I look at those numbers it gives me a little bit more motivation for 2016.

My goal is to receive 500k unique visitors per month from Tumblr. In essence I need to create 10 times more handmade tumblrs with my method or I have to find ways of ranking them higher and increasing their traffic. I guess it will come out to a mix of both.

    Happy New Year to everybody.

Thanks for sharing this. Did you use any software to run your Tumblr blogs? What type of things were you promoting to make money?

OP did say it is all manual work.

Great work OP. Best part of the earnings is the world tour journey with it, but i assume that might be eating away your earnings quite a bit.

Hi, fantastic journey and congrats on your success. I'm sorry for not being clear from the above, but is your strategy to rank the 100+ tumblr blogs in search engines? Or use them as backlinks for your money site?

Both. In some cases I link to my own blogs in other cases to sponsors with traffic coming from Google rather than the normal Tumblr user. It's a mix of all. Sometimes I reblog others or link to interesting news articles .... etc. In some cases I link to my older posts. I keep it as natural as possible. This year I had only 1 account terminated. All others still work fine. In some cases I just let them sit around for longer time and it's amazing how they can grow.

As for the niches some of you are asking for. It is a mix of travel, sports, dating and some nsfw. I prefer less exposed sponsors to minimize my risk.

Thanks for your kind words everybody.
