100's of Bitcoin somewhere on my PC

There is a way for this to be done.

1. Search for private keys in csv files or notepads in all disks, backup pendrives. You might have stored anything in it.

2. Search for these files, db.log, .lock , blocks folder, (index folder with .ldb files) and search for blocks like this "blk00000.dat" ,"wallet.dat", "mempool.dat"

3. Search for passwords in all browsers and emails.

If all three not working
4. Clone your hard disk. Use these softwares. After cloning, you can safely search for any thing using sofwares.

5. Use this software to search for any .dat files stored in your hard disk. https://www.easeus.com/data-recovery/recover-wallet-dat-file.html

I don't think he's very good with computers. OP, if you haven't ran any type of cleaner software on the hard drive since then it should definitely be on there. Look online and try to figure out how to locate the "app data" folder.
 
last thing you wanna do is tell anyone or seek "help"
lock yourself in and find even if its the last thing you do

When you delete a file the file stays in tact but the directory entry is removed use something like for example but not necessarily this one http://www.recovermyfiles.com utility to recover.

OP, you may want to do what @Society Girl and @masterjani recommended. Also, if you were a part of any mining pools, back then, you may also want to retrace your steps and see if there is any coin to be recovered from old online accounts.

2017 you start searching u wallet.dat file?

There’s one software recovery can’t remmber the name. But if u delete your wallet.dat since many years ago i dont think even recovery software can help u.

Why u just goto run and type wallet.dat if u still dint delete your wallet file yet?

Because the computer in question was in my loft and I thought well I might have a couple of coins at best, then I read that in the early days it was easy to mine 100's of coins - then it got a hell of a lot more interesting.
 
Seems everyone here started using computers post Windows 7.

I presume the computer you were using was windows XP. Make sure you have show hidden files enabled. Go through "Documents and Settings"\Username and in one of those hidden folders you'll find your fortune.
 
I have almost similar situation with this but more complicated.
I send 10,500 units of WAVES coin to the wallet that i forgot to save the seed.
Since i click [x] remove the save seed in the login page(browser). Something like seeds address that it will auto save if u goto waves web wallets then u will know what i mean.

10,500 waves = now worth $168,000.00 (since 1 waves = $16.00).

Losing $168,000.00 dollars in just under 60 seconds fark!

I even purchase some expensive recovery software can't remember the name and still cant do anything till now and i already give up.

You had amnesia or something you didn't remember you had some coins till now? You have to consider the possibility of your nephew wiping some space on said hard drive with a tool like Ccleaner to store his porn, in which case you're pretty much fucked.

If you were mining BTC in 2010, that leads me to believe you are savvy enough to search for files yourself. Otherwise, count it as lost, you most likely deleted it and are mentally wrestling with the fact that it feels like a great loss.
If that's the case, life goes on, money doesn't buy happiness.

Otherwise, I wish you luck. There is software to search your entire drive for a file, all it takes is a google search.
