Hello everyone,

I did some test with a new (expired) website for an easy niche in a foreign language (Arabic). With some links (not many), I got the site up to ~1,000 UV/day in just 2 weeks. After that it dropped to around 100 and now it's still there for more than a month.

I'm not that great with SEO. Is it sandboxed? What's recommended to do now?

Thanks

what you did was power boost type thing.. you basicaly did a actual blackhat seo.. so you ranked good for very short time .. than u got hit and dropped...
as u are still geting 100uv... you arnt sandboxed mostprobably penalised...
stick to geting more new content and quality links now

Google has an algorithm google caffeine, it means you have to update the website every day to beat your competitors.

Keywords are very important to compete.
When you drop your website traffic.
That means you beat your competitors in the SERP

Could be a lot of things. How many links did you build (what is your definition of 'not many')? How fast? What type of links? Did you use a lot of exact match anchor? Are the links still alive/indexed? Is the niche news related?

Without more information it's really hard to say what exactly is happening.

You might even have unknowingly run a black hat seo campaign on it and made google think the content was going viral, but then you stopped linking and the site bounced down. It could have been a grace period since your site is new, then again you said it was an expired domain but we don't know if this expired domain had any pre-existing links, or if it was a pre-existing site.

Ranking fluctuation, you need to keep building links to site to make your site up in ranking and to get traffic.
