Hi BHW,
There's some great posts and info on here. I've been reading, lurking and learning here for a while, just registered so i can post.
Background
I'm totally new to IM, been making money online for years through eBay and amazon and also run a landscaping company. The problem is it all ties me to one place when i want to be able to travel and maybe live abroad for some of the year, it's also incredibly time consuming and leaves little time for much else. I'm 50 in just over 3 years and want to spend those 3 years building towards an alternative future income stream. I know £1000 a day is ambitious but i like to aim high and honestly believe it is achievable with hard work every day over 2-3 years combined with learning the right techniques and skills.
I have no coding skills but am starting to learn python, once i have a working knowledge of that i will move on to learn another and so on. I have built several Wordpress sites using templates but need to learn some SEO skills.
I'm moving to an old run down farm house/smallholding in wales in a couple of months and intend to blog and document my journey there restoring house and grounds, building animal enclosures, animals etc. I will have an amazing backdrop of mountains so should be able to produce some really good photography too. I will also be making other niche pages unrelated to the above.
I'm not in any hurry to monetise, in fact i'm happy to just spend 1-2 years building up social media profiles, websites etc. I intend to focus on quality over quantity using 100% original content, photographs etc.
My Plans
Set up several niche Instagram pages, including a pet page, and build them using quality original content. I will also make Facebook and Twitter pages using the same names and content and probably link to some website/blog. My aim will obviously be to get 100,000's followers eventually.
I have what i think are pretty solid ideas in about 6 different niches, i would like to try them all and then concentrate and expand upon the ones that seem to get the most traction and interaction.
Learn and experiment with affiliate marketing and SEO on some wordpress sites before i attempt to monetise my main projects, that way i don't need to worry too much about getting penalised or banned until i'm confident with it.
I'm also thinking of writing some kindle ebooks in some of my chosen niches in any spare time.
I'd like to keep it as white hat as possible once i've got some traction and following but realise i'll need to use some techniques to build a following initially.
Questions
How many Instagram accounts (including pet accounts) can i have without needing proxies and without risking a ban ? I have 2 4G phones and standard home broadband connection. Same question for Facebook and Twitter.
If proxies are needed what type am i best looking at for what i need ? I have little knowledge of and no experience of using prioxies.
is it a good idea to build a really strong following before i try to monetise or would you do so at the first opportunity ? Bearing in mind i'm not in a hurry with this.
Is there anything else that i could do alongside what i've planned that will build a decent semi passive income stream in the long term ?
Would kindle be worthwhile ? I'm thinking i can share my related Instagram etc with readers at the end of the book and also promote the book through my social media so it attracts both followers and buyers.
Any suggestions for good guides to build a following on Instagram and Facebook ? I'm read loads and have lots of info but would like a good solid guide to follow to avoid bans etc.
I will of course update the thread as i make progress, but this is going to be a long journey.
Thanks folks
