100% exact anchor text

Hellovguys

As all of us know that when we take backlinks we should make diversity and take cre of anchors
Exact anchor 1%
Brand anchor 40%
Naked link 50%
But here is the problem why i spy on my competitors
I see they take backlinks from web 2.0 and guest post with
100% exact keyword anchor and they ranke at the first page

I know they did wrong but why thy rank?

1/ they can be penalyzed later
2/ anchor distribution depends on niche: check top 10 results and see the average percentages; in some niches exact match anchor is larger
3/ make sure you count correctly with web20, do not count multiple times the same web20 main domain (from multiple subdomains)

I don't recommend disavowing now :P

Competition might be less in their niche or he might be comparing an inner page with his site.

Exact anchors on bigger or no competition serps doesn't really matter. You can get penalized in future though.
 
They won't rank for long, rest assured.
 
People take Google's word as cannon far too often. I would increase your exact match anchor percentage a little bit. Don't do it too much though if you want to stick around long term. There could be a lot of reasons why this competitor is ranking other than anchor text.

We would need a full report of this competitor to determine why.
 
Who would not use the exact kw ratio for guest post ?
But for web 2.0 I have no idea.

Follow your own strategy. Aggressive exact anchor will be dangerous later for your site. So keep the variation to building links.
 
It may work for some and may not for any.
Just follow the simple ratio strategy
 
I've got one site that has 100% raw url anchors and ranks fairly well. Most of the higher ranking sites have at least 75% exact match anchor text and have been ranking for a long time. However, these are all online stores that have very little text on the homepage (whereas mine is an article).

If it is an e-commerce store with very little content on the homepage (possibly even no main keywords) then I personally think high % exact match anchors is fine, whereas if you have a keyword rich article then I'd focus on raw url and brand anchors.

There is no correct % for anchor texts. Trial and error is all we can do in reality.
 
Stick to your strategy if you're looking for long-term success.
 
Most likely, they simply order links with aknora for a certain time and keep in the top, but then they will fly for it, stick to your strategy, as it seems to me.
 
it may work for short period of time but its for sure suicidal
 
From experience, it is safe to increase exact match anchor to 2-3%.

I'm having a competitor with 70% exact match. Nothing has happened to them over the last few years. Verdict?
