    Hello
I got a message in my webmaster tools saying they are giving me $100 free in adwords credit.
should i sign up? is it worth it? will this hurt my seo, help it? or not make any difference?
obviously i would like the traffic, but i am concerned because once the $100 runs out and i dont pay to continue, will my site be penalized?

Your website wont be penalized when it runs out. I;m not aware of the deal, but if its free with no catch, go for it :]

i have 4 of these, all set up and sitting, just waiting to be used. They will charge ur CC $5.00 when u use the code for some reason. Just haven't gotten around to using any of the $400 that is waiting. I guess Adwords is just a big pain in the ass.

I got one of those too. I had a new site and said why not try it. So I signed up for adwords and they asked for a CC number, I provided it and started the campaign.

I didn't pay much attention to it and later when I logged in, the first $100 had run out and they kept my campaign going and charged my CC for another $75. I never authorized them to do that but said what the heck, its only $75 and stopped the campaign.

Now this month, I was checking my statement and these fuckers charged me another $59!!! So this is how Google is making money now!! I'm pretty pissed off, Google will be getting a call Monday morning.

    Anyone else experience this?

This is pretty normal. Not just Google doing it but lots of other vendors as well. You need to always check the terms for anything you sign up as there is often "fine print" which states that they will keep charging you unless you cancel. These companies pretty bet on the fact that not many people read the conditions.

And no, not using adwords after your first amount of credit runs out will not have any impact on your site's SEO. Google's algorithm does not take into account what you spend on PPC/Adwords (thank goodness). Personally I find Adwords now way too expensive for the return they give. There are exceptions of course, but there are lots of better ways to get traffic for much cheaper.. my 2.5 cents.

    I don't remember
When I signed up with my "latest" AdSense accounts they offered me 50$. I didn't care and after 2 weeks since I didn't take action they raised the offer to 100$ lol I used that and didn't have to punch in my cc #... And.. yes, give it a go, just remember to stop it once you hit the limit of the freebie... Nothing to lose all to gain.

Google gives these credits out constantly, they usually require some type of initial deposit.

I have used the coupon a couple times, I have a couple accounts, I'm pretty sure you can use them one per account, but not positive, anyway I have used adwords in the past before the coupons were offered and you have to stop your campaign yourself by either pausing it or deleting it, and if you don't they will keep running your ad. If you put like $20.00 per day they usually run the ad until it reaches that amount for the day then they slow down on showing it, until the following day when it starts all over again. Be careful, because if you forget, they will get you.

And they complain about us clicking on our own ad! It's like the pot calling the kettle black.
