#1 yet no clicks anymore?

I'm still occupying #1 spot on Google for one of my main KWs and I used to get hundreds of clicks for it but over the past few days the number of clicks has decreased dramatically. I've checked my webmaster tools and there are neither messages nor any other problems/errors. I've also checked my rankings both manually and using Google Monitor. According to this, I'm still #1. What could it be that has affected my website? How do I fix this?

try adding authorship, and include your image in the SERPs with the rel="author" markup.
example : http://blog.kissmetrics.com/google-authorship/

i find it increases clicks drastically

Has Google cluttered the search results with images, paid ads, shopping, maps, youtube videos and other shit?

I had this happen to me and still hold #1 positions in some niches that get shit for traffic these days. The problem is that Google whored out the search queries with their verticals - basically routing organic traffic to other properties that they have monetized. This is a further erosion of organic search in Google as they force organic listings below the fold.

If you have not done anything wrong then it must be the google dance which makes thing like this.
Altough i am not totally sure.

This seems to be happening now, am in same position. all the organic traffic has been taken by stupid ads

no, my KW is not seasonal. and there's only one (illegal coz brand bidding) AdWord ad above the fold. there's no videos or any serious spam on the first page either. don't get it...

I have the same problem. I'm ranking for several keywords and my pages are not getting the traffic that they should have

I agree with cocococo. Most of the clicks are going to paid sites. Even with 1st page sites your earnings will be really low.

Does your Meta title and Meta description accurately describe the business. Is it attractive enough to push the users to click on it? If I am searching google to buy a laptop and if the description on the first result talks about a software application (yours may not be that off), I would not click on that result and will move on to the next one that talks about something more relevant to what I am looking for.

Just a thought.
