Tesla's founder Elon Musk wiped $14bn off the carmaker's value after tweeting that its share price was too high.

The tweet also knocked $3bn off Mr Musk's own stake in Tesla as investors promptly bailed out of the company.

"Tesla stock price too high imo," he said, one of several tweets that included a vow to sell his possessions.

In other tweets, he said his girlfriend was mad at him, while another simply read: "Rage, rage against the dying of the light of consciousness."

Elon's Tweets have gotten him in trouble before, ie the SEC. Maybe he'll learn one day.

How do you figure half? It literally dropped 10% and change... not 50%?

Anyways, maybe he plans to buy back more stock or something lol.

I don't think you realize how little fucks some people give. It's exhausting worrying about all day, just do what you want.
 
Well at about 500, his great buy probabily, after all his the only one flying high, wathever news say negative about him, he has huge contract for Nasa to put in the sky like 40k satellites, plus all the other shit he has going on, somebody or somebody else need to buy shares, and he is helping, some other people would have been called foe that tweet, for him may be a fine, that in the gran scheme of things is a pitance, just calculated expense...

So is more correct say, 1 tweet generate 3 bn for somebody, is not what most of the people of this forum want to achieve?

That's too exaggerated. It is just a 10% dip and if they hold everything is all right.

Elon is, in my opinion, one of the smartest men alive today.

Either he is investing more or just giving anyone else a chance to invest for free, but he didn't fuck anybody over as Tesla's stock price will continue to increase.

This guy is a genius and a memer, he knows what he's doing and his every move is calculated.

So he controls what happens in a company and says companies going to shit, all of sudden stock dip and he buys...another day he says companies got crazy potential, all of a sudden stocks raise and he sells - thats market manipulation as an insider

People will believe him because no head of company does shit like this except him and gets away with it and I'm sure that's why it is illegal

I agree. I believe the SEC will issue a penalty this upcoming week - likely in the form of a fine.
 
of course he will get away for it, a fine is not a fair punishment...
