I understand it, the difficulty is discover these site, by footprint I believe.
Right ?
 
Ummm...not really. If you take a look in the BST section you might find a few.
 
I am always tempted to stick with super legit stuff for tier one. Brand building type stuff. At the very least, sites that I control enough that I could kill the link easily if I needed to.
 
Any property where you have full control can be used as tier 1, web 2 blogs + social network posts are good options.
