#1 in Google and No Clicks?????

Hey guys,

So I have been getting increasing aggravated with the click throughs from my Google rankings and I'm wondering what I am missing..

I am using Google Adwords Keyword Tool to determine roughly how many searches per month and with that I targeted keywords accordingly. As of yesterday I am ranking #7 for a search that gets 27,000 searches per month.. I haven't had a single click. Another site of mine is ranked #1 AND #2 for a search that gets 1,300 searches per month and I have had around 5 clicks over the last 5 days or so.

What the heck am I missing?? My other site that I never really took seriously is currently in #7 for a search that gets 5,400 searches monthly and in the last 5ish days it has over 100 clicks from that term and growing very quickly. That site is doing better than all my other sites!

I have spent alot of time and money to rank for these positions and I was hoping to be cashing out a little from these ranks and still nothing. I can go all day with this problem. I have another site #2 for a search that gets 5,400 monthly searches and I have had 1 click that was probably from me.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, at this point there is no turning back. I can only persist and improve the rankings and hope something freakin changes.

You would be referring to the title and google description, right? I have quite a few different layouts currently. Some with just keywords and some with a pretty title.
 
Is there some sort of delay in the Google SERPS that need to "adjust"? Or am I looking at the wrong place for keyword ideas? I have confirmed in India, Oregon, and California the Google ranks are almost the same.
 
Try changing your description tag. Sell the click. What is your usp? Try using I in the description. Get in the head of your user and give them what they want.

1) Are you logged out of G when searching? Try a fresh search on a fresh session.

2) Your title/desc may need work.

3) The data may be off. The gkt leaves a lot to be desired.

1.) Google has no particular reason to think I own the site but I did have people in other locations verify the positioning and they all agreed they were almost in the same spots.

2.) The titles on some have a bunch of keywords which arent great but IMO aren't that bad. The descriptions are great teasers IMO.

3.) What is the gkt?

IMO the descriptions are pretty good the only thing I can say is that the titles are great because of a bunch of keywords I put in there to help with the SEO. Still they aren't discouraging.

Also I have some pages that have well written titles and description but still get nothing for traffic.
 
I only get about 30 clicks a month and my page is usually the first or third link out of 1,210,000 while searching a simple key phrase (two words)

I don't pay anything for seo, maybe that's the problem.

Not sure what ta tell ya.

But does the search term get 1,210,000 searches monthly or is that just how many results you are getting?

The data is probably just off.
 
That is what I thought but many people use it to target keywords and right now I have good ranks for about 50+ keywords all recently attained but hardly the right amount of traffic.

The real question is how many people actually search for that and what position are you. Thats how you can tell if your getting a good CTR rate. If your first page and 1+ million searches month 30 clicks is not right. Which is the situation I am in.. i dont have 1+ million searches but enough to generate more than 10 freakin clicks.
 
Well if anyone types: aff cash, aff money or aff affiliate, im usually the first, second or third in the results.

I guess those words together aren't very popular, If it wasn't for the aff part, i'm sure it would do better, but that's not happening, lol.

aff affiliate = 1,300 monthly searches

The other two dont come up at all..
 
That is without quotes.. Im telling you how many people actually search that term in Google monthly (without quotes).
 
definitely Your title and description has lot to do with CTR, it is easy to focus to much on SE. We have to write meta and content both SE and user friendly.
Least CTR I get is 1% for first page and goes up to 8% or so. But at this stage if I were you I would not mess with the meta and content as you might loose the ranking even it might not do you any good:-( )

small thing I might share, I use ... at the end of description. Pretty straight forward descriptions with keywords and clear call to action, but putting those three little point at the end has improved my CTR because if you want {keyword} ...

another thing is the position, I have similar experience. On some keywords I rank #1,2 and CTR is less than #4-6. It will depend on few other things.
