Are $1.50 auctions worth it?
What ould the profit be after fees etc?
No postage to add to costs.

most likely, $1.50 auctions aren't for making money. they are for building feedback so people can get over 100 so they don't have the 21 day hold.

How much does Ebay take from a $10 or $5 auction?

Think of it like an off line auction
10 to 12 per cent plus tax

Thats not all too horrible. What about 99-cent ones? Aren't they still around?

i think the best way to bulid feedback is get 95 items for $1.50 and then your last 5 get 2 $500.00 seller feedbacks and 3 buyer feedbacks of $150.00 or then you have a nice account with some good credabilty and then you can have some fun. maybe even get some people to start paying you outside paypal

About getting 95 1.50 items makes sense but what is a good product to market? It would be a lot of work to go to the post office sending off 1.50 packages? The post would cost more than the actual item and i would lose money?

I have been ordering products from china and selling locally on craigslist and doing very good. I am new here and want to start learning how to sell on Ebay. Would love to connect and learn more on making money online. I have some good ideas to share as well.

thanks

I have no problem with this method at all.But please clarify.Someone mention of these forums that ebay, sometimes shuts down accounts for anything.Esp.if they since your trying to just get feedback from small items.I have not been on ebay for that long(selling) so I do not know.Could someone explain.
Thx

I would never waste time on $1.50 auctions.. even for building Feedback.

It is completely worth it.

I sell thousands of items a month, 80% of those items are either "loss leader" or items I make between a .25 cent - $2.00 profit on. And you are probably thinking "Omg, thats such a waste of time and money"

But here are the facts:
1) This shit sells fast.

2) It ships easy, all of this stuff is prepackaged and sorted. I slap on a shipping label and off it goes in less than 2 minutes.

3) It's reliable money, I'll always have this money coming in. Someone comes in and undercuts me, I can list the product for less, let it become a loss leader, probably push out the competitor, and easily replace this product with a different one that yields a similar return. This always pays my bills. When I had about $10,000 invested in this type of inventory I was making an Easy $3000 a month in profit. Thats when I hired my first employee and while they did the grunt work I could focus on growth and thats how I eventually came to pay Myself 6 figures a year.

I have amazingly high positive feedback, a couple negs won't fuck me over like it will most eBay sellers. I get a couple negs, I can usually bribe them through feedback revision, and poof, those negs are gone.

It is completely worth it.

What are you selling? I have been trying to find some items, mostly electronics, to resell. I've been selling some niche items somewhat successfully, but eBay just screws me on fees. I find it hilarious that I'm being charged almost double the cost of the product in fees.

I remember making couple of hundred from one listing, took me no investment and made good profit out of it. EBAY removed my listing and refunded me my ebay fees etc plus i had one or two unhappy customers who also could not send me a negative feedback as my listing did not exist anymore.

So it was a win win situation overall :_)

For obvious reasons, I'm not going to tell you what I sell but what I will tell you is that electronics have such small profit margins that eBay fees quickly put you in the red.

Find large Chinese sellers on eBay, find items with a 20% profit margin between what is being sold locally vs the price you can buy it from a Chinese seller. Purchase in bulk, and push for a 33% discount on your purchase so that you can make money between the 20% markup, and the bulk discount. You can calculate how many to purchase so that your inventory is likely to be sold in 4-6 weeks by using eBay Advanced and searching under completed listings from local sellers.
