1&1 IONOS scam, Lock account without warning

Lock your account without warning
I immediately lost my domain name and the whole company stopped because of the domain name I bought from IONOS
Scam company, I swear I will never use your services again
Warning to everyone using ionos services, stay away from ionos.
Bad experience
I will spread this to all groups for everyone to see
I'm really shocked by the way you guys work you guys locked my account without warning

Don't wanna sound rude but no one uses 1&1. They have bad reviews everywhere. That $1 shiny price got you into trouble.

But still if a domain registrar received any sort of illegal/copyright complaint, any registrar would do that.
 
They locked my account because I put the wrong address
But in fact I entered the correct address and my account has been live for half a year
They locked me without warning and I couldn't fix or transfer the domain
An act of contempt for users, I want to warn you that ionos is a scam
Never get involved with them

They wouldn't do that. How could they even determine what a "wrong" address is. Registrars don't do any address verification. I've been using fake details for over a decade on many domains with many registrars. They don't care. What they care about is if you do illegal shit on the domains.

That's the truth
When I call support, they just say the account is locked for security reasons
When I inquired further, they said the address was wrong
When I wanted to transfer they said they couldn't
I'm just a small user, what can I do now but watch the site go down and lose money
 
They are German company. Should stay far away, they are terrible when it comes to hosting, domains, etc. Extremely strict and unreasonable. Probably whole EU is crap when it comes to IM. One of my family members bought a domain + hosting on another big german hosting company and they would just deactivate his whole account because he didn't write the disclaimer correctly, then asking for a reactivation fee of 30€. Absolutely ridiculous.

I am from Europe and I don't hate on Europeans, I hate on the European Union, which is absolutely taking the piss with all their regulations. What is quite remarkable is how they just come up with new regulations again and again. You think they lost it already, but then they come around and just prove it can get even worse.

Just two very short examples in Germany:

Live streamers (on Twitch, etc.) have to apply and purchase a "streaming license" in Germany, which costs are 1k-10k€ and has several requirements. They suddenly came up with this out of nowhere. Its like "ok, how can we earn money from them? Ahhh lets come up with something like a license they have to purchase!"

Other example: They came up with this law here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Enforcement_Act
and they are in total control of what is considered "fake news" or "hate speech". Example: If I would say last year: There will be something like a mandatory vaccination, they would take me down and probably fine or punish me. But in fact, now this "mandatory vaccination" is not "fake news" or some kinda conspiracy anymore, it is something they wanna do. Or you can insult conservative people all day long with all kinda insults, but if you say something like "nope, I wont use the pronouns for this transgender" they are going to call it "hate speech" and punish you.

Thats why I say: If someone wants to do IM for a living or has a tech company, don't do it in there. Do it in a business friendly country with less ideology. Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.

so, hate on Germany then, not on the entire europe. I know that germany has many restrictions and I don't like them either (I actually don't want to live in Germany, I want to live in my shitty country Romania, but alas, the Germans are buying it piece by piece because it's too rich and beautiful, and are kicking us out of it)

They are as bad as GoDaddy, offer the $1 or £1 service then add extras at cost then still screw things up.

Iand1, godaddy or hostinger will lock your account if you dont submit address or name as per govt id.

Namecheap is much more flexible, i am using nc with fake name and addrsss for last 7 years, their support didnt even bother to ask why name is sms inc, even i told their human support my real name they still consider my name as sms inc.
 
me too , they locked my account and after i contact the support they till me that they will send me money after 10 days but they didn't send any thing

I am having my first ever experience with IONOS and I can say that they will and are doing that for no reason! I purchased a hosting package and 2 domain names yesterday. I purchased http://www.iVerinda.com and http://www.SupriseBuys.com with the business hosting package and paid for an entire year. I live in the united states, there is nothing illegal, wrong, or negative about the domain names themselves, and MY CONTRACT IS LOCKED! I haven't received anything from IONOS, no communication, no explanation, nothing.... Except the bill and the receipt from my purchase. They will gladly take your money and lock your account for NO REASON! I should have done my research before choosing IONOS because this is all that comes up when you do any type of search or read reviews. I have attempted to contact support for an explanation and a refund or my account unlocked and that was almost 11 hours ago now.

what kind of trouble?
will they make it difficult for you to transfer the domain to another registrar, or something?
I'm just interested in trying their services

I'm not sure if you will ever come back to this forum and read the notifications but, did your problem end well with ionos?
 
All webhost doing that not only gofuckdaddy.

Based on government law.

You giving them wrong address, have fraudulent domains and businesses, you not giving them proof oy your ID ......and the list goes on.....

What do you expect any other reaction than a account lock or complete shutdown?
