Hi Guys,
I'm totally confused by this. For the entire year, since January 1st up until now, I've had a 0% bounce rate on one of my sites in Google Analytics. Its one of my smaller sites in an very targeted niche where I would be providing extremely useful content. However, 0% just doesn't make sense to me.

At first I thought it would be a tracking thing, but everything else is tracking just fine.

  • Avg pages per visit: 4.12
  • Avg visit duration: 58 seconds
  • Bounce rate: 0%

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Rightintwo,

0% wow! What is your secret? There are a couple of reasons you could be achieving this metric. While the acceptable bounce rate for a website is around 20%, 0% is almost unheard of unless some conditions are present. For example some websites have a home page that requires people to "enter" the site to see any content. Since the home page is one of the most heavily viewed for virtually any site, this could create a 0% bounce rate. Is your site anything like that? This phenomenon however would not account for other indexed pages showing up in search results that are not like that.

You may want to check with Google on this and also double check that you do not have duplicate instances of the tracking code on your site (for example in the header and also in a plugin or widget somewhere).

No bounces is more an indication that there is a problem with tracking than anything else. Not to say your content is not engaging or site well laid out. Every website registers some type of bounce whether it be a user that got there by mistake or bounced for some other reason. Try testing on a machine that you are sure will show up in data. Visit one page and then close your browser and see if the data shows up the next day. If it doesn't you have an issue with your code.

This article touches on zero percent bounce rate and reasons you may be seeing this,

Hope this helps,

Awesome, thanks for all that info! Its not a doorway page, so i know that is out. I do have reason to believe that my bounce rate should be <20% but the 0% just doesn't seem right. No duplicate tracking code, but i'll check out your link to see if it might be something else.

Ouch, found the culprit.

Turns out i was trying to also track clicks using different Google tacking code and there was a conflict. :(

Thanks for your help!

I had 0.02% bounce rate for a site I recently sold on flippa, seems about the same as you :3

0% bounced rates would be this reason :
For example,Customer click the Url into #A page ,then he entered into #C page via #B page. At tihs time , #B page can be reagarded as "Bridge",thus its Bounce rate will be 0%.

As far i think, It seems to be an error in reporting from google analytics. You can do one thing to cross check it. Buy fake traffic (very small amount) ...and you should see the data if it changes or not ?

Hope it helps.

0% O.o if thats not an error you are a genius and i want a link to site lol

Might want to take a look into what kind of scripts you are running on your site that could potentially be interfering.

could be scripts but seems really strange that that would affect it
