i have been doing this for some years now it's a good method.

go for it .. .yesterday i got a similar domain 400k links and 6k referring domains only paid 25 euros for registry.

i would pm you with something interesting but i'm unable to do so yet. I would like to try this method for my country to see if it works, it's similar to the old 302 method where you would at first redirect the website to some authority domain like wikipedia?
