Being an algorithmic penalization, I guess is mandatory to change the content on the cloned site. If not, when Google recrawls it, will penalize the new site too. If redirecting+modifying the site+ sendin new links recovers it better than just modifying the original site + adding new links is...

Do you really think there will be dramatic changes from now on? Everything seems to be pretty stable for the past few days. Hope it was true, but I think it's time to start taking action on recovery plan.

Thanks for letting us know! My site was originally built in 2014, but I did a domain change (with proper redirection, notifying the change through Search Console, etc) in October 2016. Don't know if that can mean anything... But I don't think they've penalized every "new" domain on that period...

The summary is this: - "windows for houses" (high volume + big drop because its intended page isn't ranking for that but the blog is) the ratio is higher than average in the TOP spots. I was in the process of diluting that. - "windows houses" (low volume + low drop) not many links with...

And for "windows home" I'm now in the #12 spot, but for "window home" I'm in the #82? =/ Both were TOP10 previously.

I truly don't get anything of this still... I still rank (although a bit lower) for "windows houses", which is a low volume KW, and I rank with the specific page for it. BUT when it comes to "windows for houses", which is a higher volume KW, I've completely disappeared to the 8th page, and what...

Still no pattern that we can think of. Spammy, great, new, old, high quality and low quality sites have been hit. That's the worst thing of all... Not knowing how to react. With Panda and Penguin we knew why we could have been hit. This time... nothing at all. For now... I'm creating clone...

Did you do anything to recover? Disallow/New links/Change content? My site is still in limbo. Don't know if letting it stay like that and see what happens, try to improve it, or build a new one. Thanks!

Hope that's true, although I highly doubt it... But yes, I'm speaking to people that got hit on several sites. They also don't have a clue. Some with agressive link profiles are ok. Some they have taken care to keep it as whitehat as possible, have been hit. Meanwhile, spammy sites are still up...

I had one sitewide internal link with exact match anchor. But we're talking about rankings completely wiped out here, not a drop of 2-3 spots. I don't think it's your case. Regards

The only reason I haven't go onboard is because supposedly having blasts of comments in blogs, networks with sidebar links, etc, would not only not make me rank better but throw me in hell. The exact opposite has happened. It's like 2010 again it seems. Not whining, just amazed. Will compare...

That's the thing... Many TERRIBLE competition sites are still up. Sites with clear link farms linking to them, shitty blogs and pages repeating the KW tons of times with ugly bad internal linking. Really Google? Really?
