Proof? Recipe books are the most saturated niches if not the most saturated. I've been playing Kindle for the past few months there's so much more that goes into creating a successful book than what you mentioned.

3 books per week is a tremendous rate to write by yourself. Would you call those books TOP SHELF? I was doing 2 books/week, at first. I began giving only the BEST quality 1 book/week, at most. The kind I have intentions to sell paperbacks of in the future (when i get my first check).
